Selena Gomez has sparked rumors of a new relationship after an allegedly romantic date with Zayn Malik. The singer and Disney alum were spotted kissing on a dinner date on Thursday in NYC.
The rumor initially started when fans noticed that Malik was just following Gomez’s Instagram account. The former 1D member ended his relationship with model Gigi Hadid, with whom he shares a two-year-old daughter, in 2021.

TikTok user Klarissa Garcia claimed in a viral video that Gomez and the “Pillowtalk” singer were romantically involved. He shared a screenshot of the conversation with a waitress he was friends with, who saw the two waltz into the Manhattan restaurant. Gomez and Malik were “holding hands” and “making out” as he sat them down for their dinner.
The two allegedly enjoyed their time out, which lasted for two hours. In conversation with Page Six, Garcia notes that the restaurant is located in Soho and is “quite public.” The 30-year-olds didn’t try to keep their romance on the down-low, as their table was in the middle of the celebrity-studded eatery.
The TikToker added that “no one noticed them” despite their PDA, “except” the hostess. He explained that the people around him are so used to celebrities that they no longer pay attention. Garcia says, “no one really cares about famous people in New York.”

Rumors of a relationship with Malik aren’t unfounded, as the “Heart Wants What It Wants” singer previously expressed her interest in the former One Direction member. In a 2010 clip, Gomez revealed that she wanted to kiss Malik more than any other singer in the boy band.
