Selma Blair pays tribute to late ‘Friends’ actor Matthew Perry after 30 years of friendship.
Blair, who has multiple sclerosis, paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend, admitting “it’s good to be sad.”

The ‘Cruel Intentions’ actress dated Matthew Perry a long time ago, but they’ve remained friends for 30+ years, stating that Perry “means a lot to me.”
Following Perry’s death, fans have paid tribute to the late actor in various ways, including by erecting a memorial outside the ‘Friends’ apartment, and even rewatching the sitcom, bringing it to the top streaming show last week. As for all the love that’s been pouring in for Perry, Blair admits it’s been wonderful to see.
“I love it. I know Matthew really likes to touch people and his comedy is therapy,” she told ET. “The show, [‘Friends’] it’s so loved because we get to be on a show like that in prime time and create a family… I love that it affects everyone and it’s good to grieve… We realize how precious things are when we go through dark seasons.”

As we previously reported, police responded to a 911 call on October 28 to assist with a possible ‘water rescue’ at Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades home. When first responders arrived, they reportedly found the 54-year-old “Friends” actress in her hot tub, unresponsive.
Perry is believed to have drowned, but an autopsy and toxicology report will answer more questions about the exact cause of her death.
“In this information age, we have realized that we can wear our hearts on our sleeves. We can wear the names of our heroes, our mentors, and I think this connected energy is important to all of us,” Blair told ET in regards to the extent of Matthew Perry’s impact on the world.

Blair also posted a touching tribute to Perry, honoring her in a respectful and touching way.
“My oldest boyfriend. We all love Matthew Perry, and I love him so much,” she wrote alongside a selfie of the two. “Every day. I love him unconditionally. And he’s me. And I’m broken. A broken heart. Sweet dreams Matty. Sweet dreams.”

In addition to Blair’s tribute, many other celebrities have spoken out following Perry’s death, including the ‘Friends’ cast. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer released a joint statement, which read, “We are all devastated by the loss of Matthew. We are more than just an acting couple. We are family.”
None of the actors spoke individually, though in their joint statement, they stated, “There is much to say, but now we will take some time to grieve and process this unexpected loss. In time, we will talk more, when we can.”
“At this time, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” they concluded.
