Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) became the third GOP member of Congress to be “hit” during the holiday break this week, following earlier false reports to law enforcement about incidents at the Reps’ home. Brandon Williams (R-NY) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).
“Last night, while having dinner with my wife, the cowards ‘bombed’ my house in Naples. These criminals are wasting our law enforcement time & resources in a sick attempt to terrorize my family,” Scott aired on Thursdays at X.
The Republican senator also thanked the Naples Police Department and the Collier County Sheriff’s Department “for everything they do to keep us safe.”
“Swatting” calls usually claim a violent incident has occurred to prompt the use of force by law enforcement on unsuspecting people.
Naples Police Lt. Bryan McGinn told The Post that officers received a dispatch call at approximately 9:02 p.m. Wednesday from someone claiming a shooting had occurred at Scott’s home.

“Within 15 minutes, we were able to confirm that it did not happen and that it was a heartbreaking event,” McGinn said. “This is an active and ongoing investigation.”
An incident report obtained by The Post showed the male caller, who identified himself as “Jamal,” said he had shot his wife three times with an AR-15 rifle because she was sleeping with another man.
Williams and Greene were both “hit” on Christmas Day by an unknown caller, with the Georgia congressman claiming it was the eighth time he had received such a visit.
“Jamal showed he was holding a hostage and demanded $10,000. He said the hostage was his wife’s boyfriend, Michael. Jamal said he had a pipe bomb and, if he didn’t give $10,000, would blow up the house,” the report said.
But officers conducted a search of the residence’s perimeter, entrance and interior, finding no signs of forced entry or anything the caller described.
The report also states that “‘Jamal’s’ voice sounds as if it is computer generated/artificial.”
“Our house was hit this afternoon. Thank you to the Deputies and Team who contacted me before arriving,” the 56-year-old congressman announced Monday afternoon at X.

“My local police are the GREATEST and should not have to deal with this,” Greene said on X after the suicide line received a call from someone who also claimed he shot his girlfriend and threatened to kill himself.

Greene blamed an “incredible double standard” from federal law enforcement for their lax response, comparing the reaction to “how the FBI and DOJ treated the J6’ers, [President] Trump, and their political enemies.”
“And after today, I have been beaten 8 times but the FBI can’t seem to find out who is responsible for the beatings and says the law does not allow them to track them,” he added, saying he would introduce legislation next year “to trace beater.”

“The FBI could have done a lot, even abused FISA to spy on hundreds of thousands of Americans, but couldn’t figure out who wanted me killed by a hail of SWAT teams responding to a suicide call that supposedly came from me.”
“The FBI takes all threats very seriously and will continue to work with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners to gather, share and act on threat information as it comes to our attention. We urge the public to remain vigilant, and report any and all suspicious activity and/or individuals to law enforcement immediately,” the bureau told The Post in a statement.
“In response to the national call for a hit, the FBI started a Virtual Command Center (VCC) known as the National Joint Operations Picture (NCOP). NCOP-VCC is a collaborative effort between the FBI and law enforcement partners to track and create a real-time picture of beating incidents. Established in May 2023, this initiative is open to any law enforcement agency and affiliated center that wishes to participate in tracking and sharing swatting information within their respective jurisdictions.”
All three members of Congress referred their incidents to the United States Capitol Police, which works with federal law enforcement agencies such as the FBI.
