Throughout the slideshow, fans can see how much the pet means to the “Neighbors” star and his beautiful wife, Lauren Miller. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed features a beautiful semi-Blenheim color coat, and round, shining eyes that sparkle with love in every photo.

Zelda enjoyed a trip to the beach, posing with the couple, playing fetch with Rogen, and cuddling with the actor’s wife in the photo. There was also a video of the pet wagging its tail excitedly as it watched the Canadian entertainer prepare the turkey.

The photo dump received over 300,000 likes and was captioned with a lengthy message about the dog’s life. “We said goodbye to our perfect girl Zelda on Thursday, May 4. She was almost 14 years old,” revealed the heartbroken filmmaker.

“He really is the most amazing magical creature. He taught us about love, perseverance, strength, and kindness. We love him more than words can describe. Everyone who meets him sees what a unique puppy he is,” the American Comedy Award recipient continued.

Highlighting the pup’s unique features, the 41-year-old noted that Zelda can stare into someone’s soul with “monstrous buggy eyes.” He also makes people feel special because his judgmental nature means that only deserving individuals can receive his love.

Sharing details about the dog’s achievements, the executive producer of “Invincible” explained that the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel evolved from a “shy” puppy that no one wanted to adopt to become a celebrity dog.

According to the comedian, Zelda “became a girl who traveled to several countries, appeared in three movies, on two magazine covers, and inspired many works of Zelda art – including lighters now in hundreds of people’s homes.”

The three-time Golden Globe Award winner also dropped some of the couple’s favorite things about their deceased pets. The list includes: “His big eyeballs and intense eye contact, the noise he makes for Zankou’s cock, and he leaves me with only one eye.”

Noting how “amazing” it felt to wake up every morning and see Zelda staring at him, Rogen concluded his poignant message: “We belong to each other, and we will miss her forever.”

A year before his death, the dog and his owner made headlines following the creation of a Zelda-inspired lighter caddy. The Vancouver native launched the stuff through Houseplant, the cannabis company he founded with longtime friend Evan Goldberg.

Opening up about her decision to skip the baby-making phase, the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award nominee claims she has no regrets as it catapulted her career. “That also helped me succeed. There’s a big thing I’m not doing, which is raising children,” explained the entertainer.

According to the “Long Shot” actor, he and his wife seriously discussed the subject of children before deciding it wasn’t something they wanted to do. In the words of the comedian:

“Some people want children; some people don’t want children. Honestly, you’re just told, ‘You live a life, you get married, you have kids.’ That’s what happened. And me and my wife, neither of us are like that.”

The Canadian Comedy Award winner also declared that the couple’s child-free lifestyle may never change: “Honestly, the older we get, the happier and more affirmed we are with our choice not to have children.”
