The father of Shani Louk, the 23-year-old tattoo artist who was beheaded by Hamas, said she was initially “killed on the spot” and “did not suffer” – and was relieved that his daughter spent her last moments partying with friends.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed on Monday that DNA found on a piece of skull matched Louk, who became a terror symbol of Hamas when he was paraded through Gaza after terrorists attacked a music festival near Kibbutz Re’im on Oct. 7.
“Until about 6:45, Shani was still dancing, cheering, and being wild at the party and was surrounded by all her best friends – and they had fun all night,” her father, Nissim Louk, told Israeli news channel, N12.
“He had fun until the last moment,” he added, referring to the October 7 event, in which more than 260 people were slaughtered.
“He was killed at the scene and not only was he not suffering, 10 minutes before that he was still having fun.”

Nissim also expressed relief that the family received “definite answers” about Shani’s death.
“There is some comfort in that. At least I know he didn’t get thrown into some Gaza tunnel,” he told Israeli media Ynet.

“Shani is a beautiful girl who loves to dance. Everyone loves him,” Nisism said. “He is very smart and witty. That’s how I want him to be remembered.”
He added that images from his abduction initially sparked hopes that he might be injured but alive and German sources even reported that he was being treated in a Gaza hospital, according to Ynet.

On Monday, Shani’s mother, Ricarda, also said she was relieved that her daughter was “at least not suffering.”
Louk, whose body has not yet been found, had lived in Israel but spent part of his childhood in Portland, Oregon, where he attended kindergarten at the Jewish Portland Academy.

Meanwhile, the grieving father praised the Israel Defense Forces but lashed out at the government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“The government ministries have all failed,” Nissim told N12. “They look down on everyone, they don’t work, they don’t answer, they’re not normal.”

He continued: “It’s very good on the public side. Israelis have good hearts and community spirit, but our government has been MIA for the past 20 years,” he said.
“If the prime minister was present at my house, I would tell him to leave, because he is responsible for what happened,” Nissim told Ynet, adding that the IDF “should not show mercy” to Hamas.
“No proportional response should be considered. They must pay a million times worse, which is the only way to get prevention,” he said.
