“Going into my last season, I was in a really horrible marriage, and there were things going on in that marriage that made it difficult for me to consistently be on time for work,” the “Bewitched” star told her co-star. star Jason Priestley, who portrayed his twin brother, Brandon Walsh, during an episode of his podcast in January.

“I know that’s a huge problem for the rest of you, as it should be because if other people are on time and you’re waiting for someone it’s unpleasant,” said Doherty, explaining how his co-stars were forced to “work longer hours” due to the delay.

Doherty tied the knot with Ashley Hamilton in 1993, but their marriage ended a year later as he struggled with addiction.

The actress later revealed to Priestly, 54, that she “didn’t want to leave the house” because she was “scared [Hamilton] going to get drugs.”

Doherty stated that she does not “blame” the actress for not realizing what is going on behind the scenes of her life. However, he hopes producers will ask more questions before choosing to write his character out of the show, saying, “I wish I would have sat down, and kind of, looked and said, ‘Listen, the end result is this, you’re going to be fired, and there’s no none of us is willing to put up with him anymore, and I understand that you have problems in your personal life, but that also cannot cause work . You need to get your s— together!’”
