Hollywood actress Shannen Doherty is “grateful” to see the end of 2023 amid her battle with stage 4 cancer. In the latest episode of her podcast, she gets candid about spending time with loved ones and how grateful she is to have them in her life.

Doherty, who has been open and transparent in the midst of her cancer battle, revealed during the show that she scheduled her chemotherapy treatment so that she would “recover” from it for the Christmas holidays.

“Bewitched” star Doherty opened up about how happy she is to make it to the end of the year, surrounded by a supportive and loving family.

While speaking on the Christmas episode of her podcast, “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty,” the actress, along with her mother, Rosa, stated, “We get to spend time with people who are by our side through thick and thin.”

He praised his loved ones, branding them as people “who don’t leave, who love us unconditionally, and who have the same beliefs and morals and standards and … character.”

Doherty said that she was “grateful, really, to be here for it” and noted that she “needs to schedule” the chemo infusion treatment so that she “will be fully recovered from it by Christmas.”

The 52-year-old star revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, but it went into remission in 2017. Unfortunately, the cancer returned worse in 2019, and in June of this year, 2023, Doherty revealed that she had to undergo surgery in January to remove the tumor brain.

She posted a video on her Instagram page, giving fans a glimpse of what she looked like during her radiation treatment. Doherty’s caption at the time read, “January 12th, 2023. On January 5th, my CT scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterday’s video showed the process of fitting the mask you wear during radiation to your brain.”

The actor continued, “January 12, the first round of radiation happened. My fear was clear. I was very crowded and a lot of things were happening in my life. I was lucky that I had a great doctor like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and great technicians at Cedar Sinai. But the fear that…. Upheaval….. all the time…. This is what cancer looks like.”

We are passionate, and we have different views on life. We are people who want to work and embrace life and keep moving forward.”

The actress stated that her “greatest memories are yet to come,” and that she hopes to “wake up and go to sleep thanking God, praying for the things that matter to [her] without asking too much.”

According to Doherty, when someone has cancer, they become “more aware of everything” and “feel very blessed.”

He added, “We are the people who want to work the most, because we are so grateful for every second, every hour, every day that we are here.”
