In March 2021, Osbourne and her co-host, Sheryl Underwood, were involved in a heated debate after Osbourne questioned Osbourne’s support of her longtime friend, Piers Morgan. Morgan, at the time, had made headlines for allegedly using a racist term to call the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

The incident prompted the host of “The Talk” to put the show on a short hiatus and open an investigation into Osbourne’s actions and allegations that he had made racist and homophobic remarks about his co-workers in the past.

His dismissal ended his long-running appearance on the show, which he had been a part of since its inception.

In the documents, Osbourne hinted at why he wasn’t given a second chance. He shared that the network insisted on firing him to avoid any blemish on their name.

The veteran host said (via Yahoo), “We don’t deal with companies that run, you know, religious programming. These companies are like any other — ruthless — and will do whatever they have to do to not have any stain on their network. They [don’t want] anything that will rock the boat…”

As for if suing the network crossed his mind, the former talk show host shared that he’d rather take the high road than spend most of the next few years in court. “Of course I can [sued]. But do I want to waste two, three years of my life for them? No, I don’t want to do that. For what?”

Osbourne also denied rumors that he got a big payout after his contract was terminated. To explain his point, he drew an analogy to a movie scene “when people are released [and] you take out your box full of stuff. That’s all.”

The television personality admitted that there was no way she and Underwood would ever be friends again and that she was still deeply upset by what she perceived as Underwood’s betrayal.

“Never. No. Never,” she said, referring to the possibility of makeup. “Why? Why me? I worked with someone for years, sat next to him, traveled the world with him, laughed, and cried with him. No, because he’s not a friend.”
