Sharon Stone has been watching “The Idol” and thinks Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd have outdone themselves. Earlier this month, Depp modeled his character after female characters like Stone’s “Basic Instinct” character.

In her Instagram Story, the actress praised Lily Rose-Depp and The Weeknd for their performances. Stone also praised Sam Levinson, the show’s controversial director and co-creator. The “Basic Instinct” star praised Levison for using the show to address “the source of the crisis (sic) in entertainment; Which comes first, the brilliance or the heartache?”

During the interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this year, Depp shared how he got inspiration for his character. The actress revealed that she draws inspiration “from a lot of other influences that aren’t pop stars” and some fictional people as well.
She said, “We thought a lot about Sharon Stone in ‘Basic Instinct’ and Gene Tierney and Lauren Bacalls … all these women who really inspired me for the role.”

Sam Levinson Accused Of Turning ‘Idol’ Into ‘Rape Fantasy
