Sheryl Lee Ralph Disses The Kardashians While Sharing Advice To Her Younger Self

Sheryl Lee Ralph wanted her younger self to be positive about her body and positive about life.

The actor shared that advice while talking to her InStyle during her appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet. She also subtly shaded the Kardashians’ love of cosmetic procedures.

Ralph later shared a snippet of the interview on his Twitter page and confirmed his stance on his statement.

He previously acknowledged the problems that have beset the Golden Globes ceremony in recent years and praised showrunners for implementing new reforms.

During his appearance on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in 2023, Ralph talked a little about positivity as he shared advice for his younger self.

“Your nose is not wrong. There is nothing wrong with your skin tone. There is nothing wrong with the way your hair grows from your head,” the actress said while talking to him InStyle at that event, per Insider.

Ralph has received a Golden Globe Award nod for her performance as Barbara Howard on ABC’s hit series “Abbott Elementary.”

Proud of herself, she went on to advise her younger self not to give up while throwing a sly rebuke at the Kardashians.

“And there’s definitely nothing wrong with your lips because there’s going to be some people called the Kardashians, and they’re going to pay $10,000 for your lips,” she added. “Hang in there, 15-year-old Sheryl Lee Ralph, you’re good.”

‘I Said What I Said’

For the occasion, Ralph wore a sleeveless purple sequin gown, which was evenly decorated with square-shaped beads. She wore dangling earrings, let her hair fall to her shoulders, and applied a lot of makeup to her face.

Ralph then re-shared some of it InStyle interview on Twitter. Separately tweets, she wrote, “I said what I said. Now, I’m going to bed. Good Night!” imagine him standing by his initial statement at the event.

In the comment section of her post, fans also wrote statements to support the actress’ statement.

“Big fact they don’t like the truth or when you offend or call out people they worship,” wrote one fan.

“And there are so many 15-year-olds who need to hear you say what you’re saying,” another follower said.

Ahead of the ceremony, Ralph also spoke about the Golden Globes cast’s decision to be more inclusive following the backlash after an investigation by a publication revealed a history of diversity and ethics issues.

“I’ll be more proud when I see it implemented,” the Emmy winner told NBC 4 Los Angeles, per HuffPost. “I will be more proud when I see what his membership looks like. I will be even more proud five years from now, when I see who was actually nominated and chosen to win.”

While giving an impassioned speech, she also thanked them for implementing reforms that have allowed people of color and other sexualities to be more involved.

“Everyone deserves respect,” he added. “Hollywood Foreign Press, thank you for opening your mind to at least consider giving people the respect they deserve.”

Although Ralph ultimately did not win the award for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his performance in “Abbott Elementary,” the comedy series was a leading TV nominee and won three prizes, including best comedy series.

The show’s creator and star, Quinta Brunson, took home the award for best actor in a comedy series, while Tyler James Williams won for his supporting performance.

The acclaimed show previously earned five nods at the primetime Emmy Awards held in September 2022.

At the ceremony, Ralph won the award for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series,” beating out co-star Janelle James and other contenders. Brunson also took home the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
