Simone’s 8th national title broke the previous record set in 1933, making her the oldest woman to win the tournament. Prior to this win, Biles returned to being competitive at the US Classic in the suburbs and was victorious.
The decorated athlete shared his delight at the achievement, saying he felt good but still had work to do. “I still think there are some things that need to be worked out (mistakes) throughout the night in my routine. But for a first meeting, I would say it went well.”
US Gymnasts Reveal Toughest Event Amidst Training For 2024 Olympics
While Biles is focused on the Olympics, she recently opened up about her most challenging event to repeat. The candid revelation came when a fan asked, “What was your hardest event to come back from?” during the Q&A segment.
Responding to curious fans, Biles revealed, “It always gets in the way… mentally & physically.” He went on to write, “But this happened…. BABY!!! turn around at any iykyk event. Mainly because when distractions happen, you go straight to the gym & work on it…. I took over a year off and THEN came back… So I was terrified.”
In the final part of the revelation, the 26-year-old athlete assured the well-being of his fans. “But I’m fine,” Biles admitted. “I turned around again. No worries. Everything is good.”
Recall that US gymnasts withdrew from the women’s team final at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 after experiencing “twisties.” The Twisties are terrifying mental blocks that cause athletes to lose track of their position in the air.
