Laufey wanted his alleged stalker far away from him.
The Icelandic singer-songwriter has filed a restraining order against Justin Choi after he allegedly harassed her multiple times on social media and once in person, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
Laufey Hits Out on Stalker Allegations With Restraining Order After More than a Year of Harassment
In legal documents, Laufey asked for protection from Choi for himself, his mother, Wei Lin Sigurgeirsson, and his sister Júnía Lín Jónsdóttir.
According to her, Choi had been harassing her since July 1, 2022, by sending her more than a thousand direct messages via Instagram despite her repeated requests for him to stop.
She said that Choi, a former piano student, continued to message her from a new social media account after she blocked it.

Although her husband was involved in the case, the fanatic continued to harass her, even waiting for her in the parking lot, and followed her to work on April 13, 2022.
He also allegedly tried to force his way into her class and began slurring her words, which resulted in him threatening to call 911 to get her out.
Regarding Choi’s fight with her sister, Laufey pointed out that he had left harassing messages and comments on Júnía’s social media and online platforms, even asking for her help and expressing his love for her.
He reportedly mentioned Júnía several times in the thousands of messages he sent to the “Falling Behind” singer.
With his attention to his sister, Laufey had concerns that Choi might go to great lengths to contact me, including harassing and stalking Júnía, as he had proven to do in the past. Alternatively, he fears that the alleged stalker might physically harm Júnía.
With the frequency of the alleged stalker’s messages increasing to almost daily or very frequent and his attempts to contact her personally, Laufey stated that she has experienced emotional distress and increased concern about her and her family’s safety.

The record producer has similar concerns about his mother, whom he notes he often travels with and spends time with. He also stated that the situation has caused him “a constant loss of peace, quiet and security in my home and personal space.”
Because of this fear, Laufey had to significantly increase its security measures, at a cost of over $50,000. Notably, several screenshots of Choi texting Laufey, expressing his love for her, are contained in the 97-page injunction motion.
In a message sent via Instagram, Choi claimed, “Being in love doesn’t mean I’m weird.” In another, she wrote that she “fell” for Laufey “so hard” and wrote in another:
“This is the biggest effort I’ve ever made for a girl, and I’ve never even talked to you. I’m crazy about you, I hope you see that.”
Finally, Laufey wants the court to prohibit Choi from threatening, physically harming or harassing her, either directly or through others. Choi should also be prohibited from responding to him, whether in person, by phone/text, email or through social media.
Furthermore, he must stay away from home when and where he will be performing music and making appearances.
