If you have no plans to date in the next 20 years, there are asteroids ready to accompany you!
For decades, February 14 has been designated as the official day to celebrate love. It allows couples to know the extent of their partner’s commitment as it creates an environment to express love through lavish gifts and touching gestures.
While people around the world enjoy the spirit of giving and receiving love, the holiday leaves singles feeling lonely. According to NASA, the annual tradition may not happen in 2046 because an asteroid could collide with the earth.

The solar system is a world that humans continue to strive to understand. Although it is filled with mystery and wonder, there are also various dangers in space. Thanks to NASA, the greatest defender on earth, we always follow any threat before it hits us.
CBS News recently reported that out of the millions of asteroids in our solar system, a newly discovered space body may pose the greatest risk to our planet. A space object named 2023 DW appeared on NASA’s radar on February 26.
Following its discovery, the asteroid was added to the institution’s Risk List, a catalog of celestial objects that could impact Earth in some form. From the information collected in 2023 DW, scientists have given the No.1 position to the celestial body.
According to the scale, asteroid 1’s Torino Scale ranking means researchers believe it poses “no exceptional level of danger.” The size of 2023 DW has not been precisely determined, but scientists put it at about 50 meters in diameter, the size of an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
As for its collision course, NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Office revealed the risk of an asteroid impacting Earth in 2046 remains “extremely small.” However, ESA predicts that 2023 DW has a chance to collide with the planet on Valentine’s Day.

There is also a possible asteroid impact on another Valentine’s Day from 2047 to 2051, according to the Risk List. Astronomer Piero Sicoli stated that 2023 DW has a “1 in 400 chance” of touching Earth, revealing it will fall somewhere around the Indian Ocean.
Following the revelation of a possible asteroid collision with Earth on Valentine’s Day in 2046, Twitter users reacted positively to the sad news with funny posts. “No more just Valentine’s Day!” one cheeky fan wrote, while another expressed their excitement with a video.
The brief clip shows a black man yelling “yes” as flames burn in front of him, reflecting off the lenses of the individual’s white-rimmed sunglasses. “I’m in 2046,” the Twitter user captioned the video.

It seems that all single women and men can’t wait for 2023 DW to come down on Earth. A third person confesses that the celestial object has bad intentions like them. The individual’s tweet read, “Asteroid is single and wants to see all relationships fail…it’s just like me fr.”
“Rooting for the Asteroid…” wrote a fourth apocalypse lover, while others shared their dream dates ahead of a possible apocalypse. “I am not interested in Moks. But… Valentine’s date with Princess Ariel isn’t too bad,” said the individual.

“So excited!! Me and my girls are going to have a doomsday party,” tweeted another fan, joining a growing list of people who aren’t taking the situation seriously. Out of all the jokes comes a sincere suggestion to fight danger with violence.” Well, let’s start shooting it now,” an individual advised NASA.
Last Asteroid Slides Towards Earth Without Colliding With Planet
Last month, USA TODAY revealed that a large asteroid named 2005 YY128 was previously believed to be heading for Earth at a very close distance. However, NASA denied rumors that the planet was in danger from the astronomical event.

Paul Chodas, director of the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, confirmed that the spacecraft will pass Earth at a safe distance on February 15.
NASA staff stated that the giant asteroid marked one of the closest approaches to the planet in years. Therefore, the astronomical event is named “Close Approach to the Earth.”

Astronomers predict that 2005 YY128 will approach the planet within 2.8 million miles, which Chodes says is 12 times farther than the moon. Although the asteroid poses no threat to humans, it allows scientists to learn more about celestial objects using rads
