Janelle Brown is once again reflecting on her relationship with Kody Brown.
The reality television star revealed that the head of the Brown family likes to act like he’s dedicating more time and energy to making their marriage work. And that, according to Janelle, is not the case at all. She joined the Brown family through a spiritual marriage ceremony with Kody on January 20, 1993, becoming his second wife.

In the latest episode of “Sister Wives Talk Back: Part 1,” the actor revisits a clip where Kody expresses feeling “so betrayed” by ex-wife Christine. He accused her of talking negatively about him to their children – a claim the 51-year-old denied, stating that their “disappointed children” approached him with their concerns.
In addition to validating Christine’s feelings in the process, the same clip allows Janelle to identify recurring behaviors in her ex that cause her concern after she watches them. As he recalled:
“Kody has this thing where he’s like, ‘I’ve done so much and I’ve sacrificed so much for this relationship.’ Well, it’s true there are red flags. If he feels he has to make sacrifices for the relationship, it’s probably better if it ends because it’s an equation of two halves in a marriage.”

The 54-year-old continued: “We both do the work but he wants to act like he’s doing a great job. [in] this marriage and how dare he betray her.” Answering a fan’s question about whether she would leave the marriage early, given her current life, Janelle admitted:
“Honestly, for me, it really comes down to the kids. I will stay if Kody remains the father he has been to my children over the years. So, when the relationship with the children is severed, the cost is no longer a factor.”
When asked to offer her younger self advice, Janelle reflected on missed opportunities, expressed regret for not continuing her education and setting boundaries in her relationship with her “Sister Wives.”
“I think I’m going to tell myself to be brave and rock the boat and have those tough conversations,” she added.
The bright insight comes almost three months after the doting mum shared a heartwarming family portrait on Instagram, featuring her six children with their partners and three grandchildren.
Janelle looked radiant in a pink maxi dress and silver necklace. Alongside the sweet photo, she wrote in the caption, “Finally got a picture with my baby. Happy mama.”
Since going live on October 12, the post has received over 155k likes with fans praising her, stating, “Give yourself a pat on the back, mama… you’re doing great!”

Just days before adoring fans, The Blast reported that despite reaching the one-year mark of their public split, Kody remains steadfast in his quest to win Janelle back. In the episode “Sister Wives,” he brings his now-estranged second wife on a birthday date, aiming to rekindle their relationship.
Kody appeared in good spirits during the birthday celebration as he brought the celebration to a fancy Arizona restaurant. Although she maintained a pleasant demeanor during the date, Janelle expressed her honest and firm feelings about the end of their marriage in her confessional.
“I don’t think there’s much of a way forward for Kody and me. We’re just different people now. He thinks differently. He was very, very busy with the children at Robyn’s house. Robyn and he were of the same mind. They want to live the same life. And I’m really looking for a relationship where I’m treated as an equal,” he revealed.
The evening took a turn for Kody when he expressed a wish for a goodnight kiss on the date — a wish that Janelle had no intention of granting. Surprised by his ex-wife’s lack of interest in rekindling their flame, he stated:
“I don’t know why we can’t make peace. So we had a bad fight? We’ve had worse. So we parted ways. We have had another breakup.”
Janelle replied, “You know, there’s nothing else there. Just not there. Our relationship has unraveled over the years.”
