“I need to find a space of grace and love for myself,” explained the reality TV star, highlighting her desire to let go of her pent-up hatred. “You need to express forgiveness to the people you have been involved with. You need to express the understanding and hope that at the end of an era for us as a family, we still have hope for friendship and a loving or kind relationship with each other in the future because we are bound forever through our children.
While speaking with PEOPLE, the 55-year-old also showed the challenges of dealing with these complex emotions by describing the ongoing process as “a journey that goes in and it’s a journey that comes out.”
In the face of what marks the end of an era for polygamous families, Kody’s running theme continues to be understanding while holding out hope for future relationships.
Earlier, the TV personality acknowledged the existence of both “good days and bad days,” adding, “It’s a process. I’m really just looking forward to a future that’s more forgiving and more understanding.”

In a previous episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives: One on One,” Kody shared everything she learned while navigating the turbulent waters of her polygamous marriage.
The entrepreneur emphatically stated his commitment to prioritizing depth and exclusivity in his existing relationship with his fourth and only remaining wife, Robyn, in response to questions about the possibility of adding another wife.
“I will not be interested. I have to tell that woman I will never love you the way I love her. Now I know better,” said the TV personality.

Despite Kody’s confidence, Robyn has expressed displeasure and disrespect regarding her continued relationship with him in previous special episodes. She expressed the importance of getting permission from other women as an important step forward in her marriage.
The mother of five also stated that she felt “disrespected” as the only couple to find happiness with Kody. Even with reassurance, citing affirmations from her former “Sister Wives,” Robyn mentioned that their sentiments were not communicated to her during private discussions. “They didn’t share it with me off camera,” he said.
Robyn emphasized the need for direct communication, stating, “I need the camera out there, in front of me, because I don’t know how. Feels like disrespecting his children. It feels like disrespecting the commitment I made.”
