Sleepy Joe: Biden privately admitted to feeling ‘tired’ amid age concerns, book claims

He really is is “Joe is sleepy.”

President Biden, privately, “occasionally admitted that he felt tired,” during his first two years as commander-in-chief, according to a forthcoming book.

The 80-year-old president’s “advanced years” have become “a hindrance,” draining his enthusiasm and leaving him unable to quickly recall people’s names, Franklin Foer wrote in “The Last Politician,” according to excerpts published by The Guardian Tuesday.

“It’s amazing that he took some morning meetings or presided over some public events before 10 a.m.,” Foer said in the book, which will be released on September 5.

“His public persona reflects the physical decline and lethargy of the mental faculties that pills or exercise regimes cannot avoid.

“Privately, he sometimes admits that he feels tired,” the tome claims.

Biden, the oldest president in US history, has been dogged by questions about his mental acuity amid a re-election campaign that, if successful, would keep him in the Oval Office until he is 86.

As many as 77% of Americans feel that Biden is too old to govern effectively if he wins a second term in office, according to an Associated Press-NORC poll released Monday.

Concerns about the octogenarian president’s age cut across party lines, with 89% of Republicans having a problem with it and 69% of Democrats worried it would affect his presidency as well.

Privately, however, the senior commander-in-chief once “bragged to allies” about how much the topic was covered in the media, according to Politico.

“You think I don’t know how old I am?” An exasperated Biden scolded one of his acquaintances last year, according to the outlet.

Several of the president’s verbal and physical missteps have helped keep age-related questions at bay.

In a horrifying incident, Biden tried to recognize Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) during a September 2022 event — forgetting she had died in a car accident a few weeks earlier.

Recently, the president collapsed on stage after congratulating cadets who graduated from the Air Force Academy in Colorado in June, and later in the evening, he “hit his head on the doorframe” of his Marine One helicopter upon arrival at the Home White, according to the group’s report.

Foer argued that some of the president’s weaknesses were not due to his advanced age, but to the “indiscipline and uncertainty” seen throughout his nearly 50-year career as a politician.

The former New Republic editor also praised Biden’s “wartime leadership” in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, writing that the president “took his weathered instincts and unwavering self-confidence.”

“The advantage of having an older president is on display. He is not just a leader of the coalition, he is a Western father figure, whom foreign leaders can call upon for advice and reassurance.

“His calming presence and strategic clarity helped lead the coalition to an aggressive stance, which prevented authoritarianism from its front lines.

“He was a man for his age,” Foer wrote.
