Although CeraVe released a statement to set the record straight about actor Michael Cera’s involvement, or lack thereof, with the skin care brand, rumors are still floating around the internet leaving people scratching their heads in confusion.
Famous TikToker and viral vlogger Caleb Simpson recently shared a look inside Cera’s trailer on set and what he found only fueled the rumors.

Does the “Superbad” actor have a secret life and career that none of us knew about until recently? Signs may be pointing in that direction though with a recent announcement made by skincare brand CeraVe.
“CeraVe is, and always has been, developed with dermatologists in mind. We are repeating this because we have heard rumors of Michael Cera’s involvement here at CeraVe, and we deny such claims,” a recent statement on Instagram read. “We are pleased to share the enthusiasm of Mr. Cera for the moisturizer, and wish him well. Thank you.”
With that said, there are still some questions about the relationship between Cera and CeraVe. A recent TikTok video shared by Simpson, a viral content creator and vlogger, pushed the rumors a step further.
After asking a production assistant on the streets of New York City how much he pays for rent in the city, the two end up exploring Cera’s trailer.
“It actually says Michael Cera here,” Simpson said, pointing to a sign on the trailer before entering. “Is that a microscope?”
As Simpson and her new friends move further into the trailer, they see lots of CeraVe products and a sign that reads, “Looking for skin care advice? Ask me, Michael Cera, developer of CeraVe.”

The two opened the mini fridge only to find tons of CeraVe products lined up on every shelf, even on the door.
“She does have beautiful skin. It’s like baby soft,” Simpson said. “There’s cream everywhere in here. What movie is this about you guys making?”
PA replied that the movie was “not about lotion.”
The two then looked out the trailer window and saw Cera handing out CeraVe products on the street.

Michael Cera Dances Around the Topic of CeraVe During the Latest Podcast Episode With Bobbi Althoff

During a recent episode of “The Really Good Podcast” with Bobbi Althoff, Cera effortlessly danced around the topic of founding a popular skin care brand.
“You claim you started it,” Althoff told Cera about CeraVe. He replied, “I’m not claiming that but if you look at my name, my name is Michael Cera. I just said look at the name.”
He went on to say that others had said he started the brand, but never fully denied the rumors.
“I like to just say I have some skin in the game and kind of leave it at that,” he continued. “I use CeraVe. I think it’s a good product and I think it’s very hydrating. It has three important ceramides in it and a series of nourishing lipids, and I think it’s a good product but that’s about as far as I can go. .”

As Cera continued to dodge the question, Althoff pointedly asked again, “Did you or did you not create CeraVe?” But that question only made Cera remove herself from the conversation, leaving the world to wonder what was going on here.
