Sofia Vergara has broken her silence about what led to the end of her romance with Joe Manganiello, and some fans might be guessing.
The Colombian superstar and the “Magic Mike” actor were involved in various speculations after announcing the end of their seven-year marriage in 2023. Although many claimed that they separated due to their conflicting lifestyles, Vergara recently confirmed that there is truth to these rumors.

The “Modern Family” actress opened up about her divorce in a new interview, revealing the former couple didn’t end their marriage because of bad blood. Instead, the two ended their long-term relationship because they were not on the same page about their family goals.
Although Vergara has a son from a previous relationship, Manganiello remains childless at age 47 — a status he hopes to change with his ex-wife. However, the Colombian sensation does not hope to have children in his fifties.
He reflected on the end of their relationship when asked how his personal life felt at the age of 51. “Well, I just divorced my second husband. [actor Joe Manganiello]who I was with for 10 years,” Vergara began, adding:
“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wants to have children, and I don’t want to be an old mother. I don’t think it’s fair to the baby. I respect whoever does that, but it’s not for me anymore.”

“I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother,” the TV personality explained via People magazine, noting that any future relationship must involve a man who have children She doubled down on her desire to become a grandmother and revealed her plans to love the child, saying:
“So, if love comes, he must follow [his own] children. I’m on the verge of menopause; it is the natural way. When my son becomes a father, let him bring the baby to me for a while, and then I will give it back to him and go on with my life; that’s what I have to do.”
Vergara also discussed her professional life in an interview with the Spanish newspaper “El País.” He celebrated his success at the age of 51, expressing gratitude for all he had achieved and continues to achieve through his business ventures.
“I feel very satisfied. I have done more in my career than I ever dreamed of. I never dreamed of becoming an actress,” said the mother of one. “It was an accident. I hosted America’s Got Talent for four years, a show I had a lot of fun with.”
“I host this series all over the world, I have my own clothing and beauty brand. I can’t think of anything to complain about,” Vergara said.

Vergara’s revelation about what led to her split from Manganiello comes days after she praised the press for respecting her divorce coverage. The “Chasing Papi” actor said he expected a media frenzy following their split as public scrutiny comes with the territory.
“You’re out there [in the public eye], and people know that’s part of being a celebrity. I knew it would happen. You can’t hide that,” he explained before insisting the coverage of his divorce was better than he expected. In his words:

“I think you have more options with men too. I’m single now. So in New York, more people, not only like actors, write[rs] or director. I think there is something bigger… I will spend more time in New York,” the 51-year-old teased.
