Sophie Turner’s legal representative has officially requested the reactivation of her divorce proceedings with her estranged partner, Joe Jonas.
According to new court documents, Turner has petitioned to “reactivate” the divorce process. This happened after the proceedings were temporarily halted while the ex-spouses were involved in mediation to negotiate property and child custody matters.

Initially opting for mediation in part to maintain privacy regarding their dispute, the situation changed with Turner’s request for judicial intervention. As a result, all filings detailing their disagreements will now become public record.

According to reports, Jonas and Turner had a significant disagreement over their children’s permanent residence. The “Game of Thrones” star expressed a desire to move them to the UK, while the singer insisted on keeping them in the US The situation escalated so much that Turner filed legal documents using child abduction laws, although he eventually withdrew the action .
As for property division, it may not be a significant concern because of their prenuptial agreement.

Although the former couple managed to create a temporary child custody agreement, it seems that they were unable to reach a permanent settlement on this matter.

Jonas and Turner previously entered into a temporary consent order in October 2023, which was set to be in effect until January 2024. Following the public disclosure of their divorce filing in September, Turner claimed Jonas withheld their children’s passports, preventing them from traveling to Turner’s home country of England. Subsequently, Turner initiated legal action against Jonas, suing him for wrongful retention.
According to court documents, the former couple have reached an agreement establishing England as their “forever home”. Moreover, they were reportedly in the process of buying a residence in the English countryside in April, after selling a property in Miami.

In January, the actress decided to withdraw her “wrongful maintenance” claim against her estranged husband. This decision was made after an American judge approved the rejection of the filing following the signing of an agreement plan by both parties. Notably, the consent plan was recently approved by a UK judge.
As part of their agreement, the former couple chose to dismiss the filing “with prejudice” and without any award of attorneys’ fees, expenses, costs or disbursements to either party. This resolution coincides with the approval of their parenting agreement in the UK on 11 January.
