A North Las Vegas substitute teacher accused of forcing two students to kiss last month has been arrested, according to police.
Rasheda Rose, 29, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of child abuse after allegedly forcing a sixth-grader to kiss in front of other students at Legacy Traditional School – a charter school in North Las Vegas, KLAS reported.
The North Las Vegas Police Department received a report on Oct. 12 that a substitute teacher had made “inappropriate” comments in class two days earlier.
An email sent to parents about the incident alleged that Rose encouraged children “to kiss each other” and used “inappropriate language.”
Robynn Bell, whose son was in the classroom, told the outlet all students felt “extremely uncomfortable” at the time.

“Who asks the sixth form students, who has a boyfriend and a girlfriend? Really, kids aren’t here for that. They are here to learn,” said another parent, Anais Gallegos.
Many parents blasted the school for not telling them the day of the incident, robbing them of the opportunity to discuss it soon after it happened. They were not notified until the next day.
Legacy Traditional Schools said their substitute teachers are provided through a third-party agency. The agency is conducting its own investigation into the incident.
Rose has been relieved of her teaching duties, according to the NLVPD. He was booked into the North Las Vegas Correctional Community Center.
