“Recently, I attended a rally with various activist groups who wanted to highlight the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza and called for a ceasefire. I wasn’t planning to speak but was invited to go up on stage and say a few words,” said Sarandon.

He continued: “Intending to convey my concern over the rise of hate crimes, I said that American Jews, the targets of increasing antisemitic hatred, ‘always feel what it’s like to be Muslim in this country,’ so often. subjected to violence. This expression is a great mistake, because it implies that until recently the Jews were strangers to persecution, when the opposite is true.

It was my intention to show solidarity to the fight against bigotry of all kinds, and I apologize for failing to do so.”

The statement ended with the “Blue Beetle” actor pledging to continue promoting human values. “I will continue my commitment to peace, truth, justice, and compassion for all people. I hope we can meet with love and a willingness to dialogue, especially with those we disagree with,” he concluded.

She added: Go, live like a Muslim woman in a Muslim country. You will return to America and kiss the ground beneath your feet.”

Another user agreed with Nomani, writing: “Since Lebanon is a Christian country and the Muslim community living there is more free than anywhere else.
