Suspected Russian serial killer admitted to beheading prostitute after being unable to perform

A Russian man who admitted to beheading an escort after she failed to perform during a drunken party is suspected of being a serial killer of prostitutes.

Alexei Varakin, 37, admitted to stabbing Vlada Skitskaya, 25, to death in his Moscow high-rise after he became enraged over “intimate problems,” Russian newspaper NTV reported today.

Skitskaya, who worked as a prostitute after moving from a smaller town in search of a better life, reportedly managed to grab her knife and slash the impotence in the face before she was slashed.

Alexei Varakin admitted to killing Olga Vorobyova, 40, and Vlada Skitskaya, 25, because he couldn’t perform and it drove him “crazy,” according to a Russian news channel. Vorobyova’s body was found decapitated near the scene, several British tabloids reported, citing Russian news channel The Spot.

Under questioning, Varakin confronted the sadistic killing and also confessed to killing 40-year-old prostitute Olga Vorobyova in the hotel where he was staying recently after she refused to “treat” him first, NTV said.

Varakin had been living in seclusion at the hotel after being released from the mental hospital where he was sent in 2010 for stabbing two St. Petersburg who caught him stealing from their wallets, the outlet said.

Varakin also killed two escorts in 2010 and was sent to a mental institution as punishment. He was later released after “recovering.” Moscow Prosecutor’s Office / east2west news

The suspect told authorities he was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the sickening murder.

“During the course of the investigation, the man fully pleaded guilty and told the investigation that he drank alcohol and used insignificant pretexts for the conflict and the subsequent commission of the crime,” Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant head of the Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow is reported to have said.

A forensic examination is underway to see if Varakin is responsible for the fatal murder of another sex worker.
