Even Taylor Swift’s indestructible ‘Swifties’ fans might have to ‘bring the big guns’ sometimes!

This week Swifties have been gearing up for one of the biggest tasks associated with fandom: Tickets for Swift’s first stadium tour in five years are going on sale, and potential show-goers will soon realize that the chance to see the “Bejeweled” singer live is possible turned out to be more difficult than expected.

Swifties soon flocked to social media shortly after tickets for “The Eras Tour” went on sale Tuesday morning to report a possible Ticketmaster outage!

According to our report published on Tuesday morning, Ticketmaster will soon start trending on Twitter after many fans started encountering some errors.

Reports of outages on outlet websites, error messages or fan reports being booted from Ticketmaster’s “waiting room” will soon become commonplace, with many fans eventually reporting that they can’t get tickets at all.

Ticketmaster was soon notified of the difficulty on Tuesday morning.

Their “Fan Support” Twitter account will soon tweet, “If you receive a code for the TaylorSwiftTix Presale, please log in and access the queue via the link you received via text instead of logging in via the main Ticketmaster site. This will ensure the purchase experience- the optimal split.” (via The Blast)

The outlet will soon share an update to Twitter on November 15 in response to the unprecedented traffic.

The message contained several bullet points.

“There was unprecedented demand with millions showing up to buy tickets for the TaylorSwiftTix Presale,” the first said. The message then advised fans to “hold on” and promised Ticketmaster “is working to get fans as soon as possible.”

The message ended by saying “Thank you for your patience as we continue to manage this massive request,” a statement that would later face criticism from fans.

“Y’all are so depressed,” tweeted one fan in response.

“The Bachelorette” alum Connor Brennan expressed his frustration by tweeting, “hey I hate you.”

Lawmakers Launch Investigation into Ticketmaster

The ‘unprecedented’ outcry from critics and Swifties this week has now caught the attention of some US lawmakers.

According to NBC News, Democratic senator Amy Klobuchar wrote a letter to Michael Rapino, who is the president and CEO of Live Nation, which is also the parent company of Ticketmaster.

“Ticketmaster’s power in the primary ticket market shields it from the competitive pressures that normally drive companies to innovate and improve their services,” Klobuchar began in his letter. “That could result in the kind of dramatic service failures we’ve seen this week, where it’s the consumer who pays the price.”

The outlet also noted Klobuchar is the chairman of the Senate subcommittee on antitrust issues.

The Minnesota lawmaker reportedly asked Rapino about the company’s efforts to ensure they are technologically equipped to “handle surges in demand and what percentage of high-profile tour tickets are booked for presale.”

CNN also raised an important point in their report on the situation: The outlet faces “practically no competition.”

NBC also reported Rapino has yet to address Kobuchar’s letter.

Locally, the Tennessee AG is also committed to further investigating Ticketmaster.

NBC reports Skrmetti’s office has become an outlet for disgruntled consumers to vent their frustrations. Instead, Skrmetti’s team issued a response.

As of this writing, neither Swift nor her team, Taylor Nation, have responded to the issue.
