So, what’s the ‘dirt’ on Mötley Crüe’s Taylor Swift and Nikki Sixx?
It’s probably safe to say the legendary heavy metal bassist didn’t like one of music’s biggest pop stars.

The 63-year-old recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts on “ME!” singers, and they’re not the best. Sixx is the latest in a string of musicians who have expressed their distaste for Swift’s artistry or their doubts about her songwriting abilities, especially her ability to compose her own songs.
Earlier this year, Blur’s Damon Albarn picked on Swift’s songwriting skills in an interview, and loyal ‘Swifties’ rushed to her defense after the “Snow On The Beach” singer called her out and defended herself in a tweet.
Sixx is now the latest musician to face disgruntled Swifties on social media. Read on to find out what Sixx had to say, and how Swifties defended him!

Swift has been honing her songwriting craft long before there were any tears on a guitar, and it shows. The “All Too Well (Taylor Version) (10-Minute Version)” singer has been recognized on the awards circuit for his contributions to songwriting since mid-century, including “Songwriter-Artist of the Decade” from the Nashville Songwriters Awards, which take place this summer .
However, skeptics remain.
In the aforementioned Albarn interview from earlier this year, the Gorillaz frontman called Swift a co-writer.
“That doesn’t count,” Albarn responded to the suggestion that Swift wrote her own songs. “I know what co-writing is. Co-writing is very different from writing.”
Swift would soon set Albarn straight about an important part of his artistry.
Swift tweeted a response to Albarn, writing, “I was a huge fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL my own songs. Your hot take is completely fake and very damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really offensive my songwriting. WOW.” (via The Blast)
Albarn would later apologize for his remarks.
Swift has never faced criticism for her songwriting and art throughout her nearly two-decade career.
Co-star Adele called Swift “one of the best songwriters of our generation” during a live stream last month. He also expressed his love for Swift’s “folklore” and “evermore” albums. (per KISS 91.5)
Liam Gallagher of Oasis, who is also known for being quite opinionated, defended Swift following Albarn’s controversial comments.
“I think [Taylor’s] f-king cool, man,” Gallagher said. “He writes his own songs, and I’m sure he writes with people,” Gallagher said according to American Songwriter.
Nikki Sixx Criticizes Swift For ‘Whining’ In Tweet
Is it just me or does Taylor Swift always seem like she’s whining about something new every time she drops an album? #WorIsMeMarketing

Sixx may not have taken aim at Swift’s songwriting skills in his tweet, but he made it clear that he’s not a huge fan of her career.
On November 19, Sixx tweeted, “Is it just me or does Taylor Swift always seem like she’s whining about something new every time she drops an album? He also included a hashtag that said #WorldsMeMarketing.
While Sixx didn’t directly address the complaint he referenced in his tweet, it was suggested in the comments section of a thread that he was referring to Swift’s highly publicized debacle with Ticketmaster last week.
Multiple Twitter users posted a photo of Sixx and Swift together from an awards show, circa 2010.

“If you’re talking about the ticket master thing, you’re wrong,” Swiftie tweeted. “they did him & so many dirty artists… he has every right to be upset with her.”
“and you also complain a lot, waiting for collaboration!” another Swifite responded, including the aforementioned tweet in their response.
“She’s the biggest pop star I’ve ever seen in my life,” one of Sixx’s followers said write, “Bigger than Michael Jackson. He also seems to be a good person. With success comes problems, but I think he will do his best to fix it.”
“Wow!! As a fan of you and Taylor, I am disappointed in you. Misogynistic and uninformed comments. And yes that’s just you,” another fan tweeted.
“Is it just me or is Motley Crue putting out basically the same greatest hits package over and over while trying to convince fans that it’s a must-have?” a follower ask.
“Whining or standing alone? I think all the biggest artists in the concert business should step up and help fix the problem with Ticketmaster. If live music continues this way, fans will start spending their money elsewhere. It’s getting out of control. Look at the movie biz,” another fan said justified.
As of this writing, Nikki Sixx has not commented further on the matter.
