The anonymous source then blackmails Mark and Todd via text message. They intimidate both by revealing details about their cheating and relationship. The text allegedly said: “Pay cash and we’ll shut up”. The blackmailer received $38,000 that Mark withdrew from the bank in four payments of $9,500, before meeting Todd in the parking garage.
Mark testified that he paid Todd cash to pay the extortionist. When Todd and his family are accused by the FBI of tax evasion, Mark wants to help Chrisley’s family because of his feelings for them. He then created fake tax documents for the reality star and submitted them to the bank and impersonated Chrisley in emails and phone calls, Insider reported.
However, their falling out causes Mark to return to Todd so he creates a fake email account to report Chrisley’s criminal behavior to government and news agencies. When Todd’s lawyer claims he is obsessed with Todd, Mark denies all the allegations.
Todd previously opened up about his sexuality in 2017 and shared the rumors didn’t bother him. However, he did not deny being gay. “I’m flattered because people think I can love on both sides. So, so that doesn’t bother me. And my wife is certainly flattered because there are many men who want her husband like there are women”.
Todd and his wife are on trial for fraud and evading $2 million in tax fraud. Julie reportedly submitted a fake credit report and fake bank statements while trying to rent a house in California.
Bruce H. Morris, an attorney representing Todd Chrisley, said in his opening statement that the Chrisleys were victims of a man named Mark Braddock, who ran his company, Chrisley Asset Management, and committed all the fraud without the couple’s knowledge until they fired him in 2012.
He allegedly has a thirty percent share in the company.
