The “Karma” singer recently spoke to the audience at a recent ‘Eras Tour’ stop about her appreciation for “Cruel Summer.”
He would tell the Pittsburgh audience, “The weirdest, most magical thing happened… it’s never happened to me in all the time I’ve been doing this,” Swift explained. “’Cruel Summer’ is a song I just played a while ago; I don’t know if you remember. We had a blast, huh? Where we all scream,” he continued.
“Cruel Summer” is on the album ‘Lover’. The album came out four years ago,” Swift explained. “And I just have to tell you something: ‘Cruel Summer,’ that song is my pride and joy on the album. “You had a conversation before the album came out. Everyone around cares about what they think being single should be. I’m finally going to have my favorite song be the single-off ‘Lover,'” he revealed.
“I’m not trying to blame the global epidemic we’re having,” Swift continued. “But that’s something that happened from ‘Cruel Summer’ rather than ever being single. No one understands how this happened, but you’ve been streaming ‘Cruel Summer’ a lot in 2023…”

As of Tuesday, August 15th, “Cruel Summer’ has jumped one spot! Although the Swifties didn’t get their wish, the track was a huge success! The song hit number one on Spotify’s Top 50 chart in the US!
