Tattoo artist Mike DeVries opened up to fans about the tattoo cover-up he did for Sylvester Stallone. Amidst his marriage drama, the critically acclaimed actor surprised fans by removing his wife Jennifer Flavin’s tattoo from his shoulder.

The news comes after Flavin filed for divorce from Stallone after 25 years of marriage. However, DeVries revealed to People’s Magazine that Stallone already had plans to switch inks shortly before Flavin’s move to end things.

DeVries also revealed that Stallone asked if he could make her look like Wonder Woman. He said, “We discussed talking about making Jennifer Flavin [Wonder Woman].” However, the “Escape Plan” actor changed his mind for several reasons. First, Wonder Woman’s yellow tiara wouldn’t “work” on Flavin’s dark hair in the tattoo.

DeVries explained that he told Stallone that “all his hair would shine.” Finally, the actress decided to do the closing. Since then, DeVries has signed Stallone several more times. He also recalled loving every session with the actor because he was “one of those guys who just knew what he wanted.”

DeVries spoke with Many people about his experience sealing Flavin’s original tattoo on Stallone. He said, “He wanted brighter colors. ‘Brighter, brighter. We’ve got to make these colors brighter.'” He also recalled agreeing on a “specific image” with Stallone and getting to work, saying, “I had prepare the hair. I started working on the face now. And I started working. I got the chin, and I worked on the lips, and I finished the lips very well.

At this point, Stallone became very specific about what he wanted. “He was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. [I] want you to do lips like this.’” The actor then opened a few magazine covers and told him to “’Do it like this.’” After a few touches, Stallone was satisfied.
