Tattoo artist Mike DeVries opened up to fans about the tattoo cover-up he did for Sylvester Stallone. Amidst his marriage drama, the critically acclaimed actor surprised fans by removing his wife Jennifer Flavin’s tattoo from his shoulder.
The news comes after Flavin filed for divorce from Stallone after 25 years of marriage. However, DeVries revealed to People’s Magazine that Stallone already had plans to switch inks shortly before Flavin’s move to end things.
He also recalled inking Flavin’s face on the “Lords of Flatbush” star in 2007. Following their planned split, the actor changed the ink to a tribute to Butkus, his now-deceased dog. This disappointed fans who picked up on her idea to change her to “Wonder Woman.”

DeVries insisted on Many peoplethat Stallone wanted to change body art long before last month when Flavin filed for divorce. He said, “I already knew he wanted to do something, because last year he sent me an email, and called me.”
DeVries also revealed that Stallone asked if he could make her look like Wonder Woman. He said, “We discussed talking about making Jennifer Flavin [Wonder Woman].” However, the “Escape Plan” actor changed his mind for several reasons. First, Wonder Woman’s yellow tiara wouldn’t “work” on Flavin’s dark hair in the tattoo.

DeVries explained that he told Stallone that “all his hair would shine.” Finally, the actress decided to do the closing. Since then, DeVries has signed Stallone several more times. He also recalled loving every session with the actor because he was “one of those guys who just knew what he wanted.”

DeVries spoke with Many people about his experience sealing Flavin’s original tattoo on Stallone. He said, “He wanted brighter colors. ‘Brighter, brighter. We’ve got to make these colors brighter.'” He also recalled agreeing on a “specific image” with Stallone and getting to work, saying, “I had prepare the hair. I started working on the face now. And I started working. I got the chin, and I worked on the lips, and I finished the lips very well.
At this point, Stallone became very specific about what he wanted. “He was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. [I] want you to do lips like this.’” The actor then opened a few magazine covers and told him to “’Do it like this.’” After a few touches, Stallone was satisfied.

Looking back at the finished art, DeVries said that it “looked good.” The celebrity tattoo artist expressed how much he respects Stallone as a client. The 76-year-old is one of several stars he has worked with in the past. His clients include Travis Barker, Donnie Wahlberg, and Chris Daughtry.
Following the impersonation, he tells Stallone to call him if he needs “the dog fixed or more”. Although he revealed that he has yet to respond, fans believe he is caught up with his recent divorce filing from his ex-wife.

It read: “I am saddened to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone. Although we are no longer married, I will always cherish the 30+ year relationship we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughter.”
He also “asked for privacy” from fans and the public as they “move along nicely.” The “Rocky” actor also later confirmed their split in a statement. He said, “I love my family. We are kindly and privately dealing with this personal issue.”
Since the announcement of their divorce, Stallone has maintained his usual social media presence. On her daughter Sophia’s birthday, the movie star shared a photo of her and her now-estranged wife, Flavin. The former model also posted a birthday tribute to their daughter but did not include any photos featuring Stallone.
