TJ Holmes has opened up about how he deals with arguments in his relationship with Amy Robach, revealing that he tends to “check” as a way to “get over it.”
The former “Good Morning America” actress was confirmed to have been dating since the end of last year. They continue to openly display their love for each other, and their relationship has been a major highlight of their eponymous podcast.

In an episode of their podcast, “Amy & TJ,” Holmes candidly revealed to fans that her relationship with Robach wasn’t always filled with friendly moments, as they argued occasionally.
He shared that he maintains a passive stance in such situations, adding that he “checks” to “get over it.”
“I didn’t scream, I didn’t yell, and I didn’t do anything. I don’t call names, and I don’t get aggressive. Nothing, but I’ll check it out,” the 46-year-old said on the podcast, per Many people. “I don’t need you to say ‘I’m sorry.’ I don’t need you to help me. I have to get over it, and I’m trying to get better at doing it faster.”
Holmes further mentioned that when Robach was guilty, his apologies tended to arrive at least “24 hours late,” which drove him “crazy”. Instead, Robach expressed his preference for her to respond rather than retreat into her routine of checking out, a behavior that often continues for up to 48 hours.
“At least two days,” he said. “I’d rather have him yell at me than freeze me for two days. … I was like, I don’t know what to say, what to do, what he’s thinking.”

It’s been a year since the couple’s relationship was revealed in a shameful way. As for whether walking down the aisle will be part of their future, Robach confirmed that “it’s being considered.”
“We didn’t get into this relationship for fun or to ‘Let’s see what happens.’ We entered this relationship because we intended to spend our lives together. So whether we have some kind of legal, you know, I don’t know, button on it.”
However, they are in no rush to realize the plan, because their experience has taught them that marriage is not something that can be done on a whim.
“We both have two marriages under our belts, so it’s not something we’re racing or rushing,” Robach added. “But I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I can say that. It’s on the table. It’s on the table.”
Holmes then humorously added that he wanted to marry Robach because he was sick of “introducing a 50-year-old woman as my girlfriend.”

It came a few weeks after that Page Six reported that Robach and Holmes were “angry” about their former relationship coming to light once they debuted their eponymous podcast. Holmes was previously married to Marilee Fiebig, while Robach was married to Andrew Shue.
“They must be very angry! [The news] stomping their big podcast debut,” a source said, while another claimed that the two “need to address the story because they still want to keep themselves in the news.”
At the time, another insider said Robach “thought his ex was trying to steal his thunder.” and “sure he’s doing this to coincide with his podcast debut.”
Robach’s claims were later denied by a source close to Shue. Insiders said that Shue’s “personal” persona made it impossible to seek revenge against Robach.

How well the podcast will perform over time remains to be seen. However, in the meantime, Holmes and Robach have used it as a tool to clear up a lot of speculation about their relationship, including one about them starting their relationship while still married to their exes.
Holmes said, per many people, “To be clear, we were exposed as being in a relationship, but other people thought we were being labeled as adulterers — labeled as cheating on our partner — and it didn’t happen because the odd thing was, on the day the pictures were taken and on the day of the article that was issued, we were both at that time in divorce proceedings.”
Robach also shared that they have kept their relationship a secret from the public to protect their children and family.
He added, “And we think we have time, and we think we have a right to privacy, and maybe that’s dumb and stupid?”
