Meet Cameron Joshua, One Of The Murder Suspects In The Departed Rapper Shooting
Click2Houston reported on November 30, 2022 that one Cameron Isiah Joshua was arrested in connection with the murder of rapper Migo Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball. Cameron was arrested on November 22, 2022 on a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon following a previous felony conviction in California.
Prosecutors claimed they had security footage and witnesses who could prove Joshua was at the party with a firearm in court on Wednesday (Nov 30). “We believe Cameron Joshua has been appropriately charged in this case and we are continuing our investigation into Berlepas’ death,” said chief prosecutor Matt Gilliam, at a press briefing after the court hearing. The hearing was to determine whether Joshua should be held on bond. It’s reset to next week.
Christopher Downey, Cameron’s lawyer said, “Mr. Joshua was out on bond for an unrelated matter, having a fake ID, and the case was set back to determine whether he would be held without bond because he was charged with a misdemeanor while on bond or whether he would be given bond.” Joshua was not involved at all in Departing death, he declared.
“Cameron Joshua didn’t shoot Takeoff,” Downey said. “He wants to go out. He wants to clear his name.”
Christopher did not say whether Cameron or Takeoff had any previous relationships. “My understanding is it was some kind of social event, and some people were playing dice,” he said. “Other than that, I don’t know.” Downey wouldn’t say if his client was playing dice.
“I have seen nothing to indicate that Cameron Joshua had anything to do with the shooting, that he fired the firearm that caused his death or that he was involved,” Christopher said.
In January 2018, Cameron was also involved in a series of ATM robberies. He and his gang members Brandon Jamal Pinson, 31, and Latrell Rayshod Phillips, 22, (at the time), were arrested in Williamson County on Friday night for felony attempted robbery, a 3rd degree felony.

Then in June 2021, Cameron was again arrested under two charges: FRAUDULENT USE/ENTER INFO IDENT#ITEM<5, and POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS 483.041.
While Cameron is believed to be at the Takeoff crime scene, Houston police also arrested another Patrick Xavier Clark. Patrick Xavier Clark, the suspect in the shooting death of Migos rapper Takeoff, has been charged. He was arrested on December 1, 2022 at 7:32 pm.
Besides, Click2Houston reported that Patrick was planning to flee to Mexico with a large amount of cash. A document obtained by the media explained, “The defendant fired a firearm at the crowd and hit the complainant’s back and head, causing his death. Furthermore, the low bond was unreasonable and insufficient to ensure the defendant’s appearance in court based on his successful efforts to obtain an expedited passport shortly after the murder and his travel schedule to Mexico.”
Furthermore, following the news of Patrick’s arrest, the Daily Beast reported that the alleged killer was a popular strip club promoter. He goes by the name DJ Pat. According to the outlet, Patrick is “a well-known local promoter, who runs a strip club.” He reportedly runs “The Flame HTX, a strip club that Clark posts regularly on social media to his 20,000-plus followers”.
The departure was recorded on November 1, 2022, in the early hours of the morning, according to TMZ, which announced the news first. The sad news was later confirmed to The Associated Press by a Migos official. An entertainment news website published a video of Quavo, a rapper with Migos, verbally sparring before filming began.
