In a passionate Instagram post talking about her recovery from an eating disorder, Willis shared heartfelt words with fellow “ED recovery babies,” acknowledging the challenge of resisting the pull of unhealthy habits.

She wrote: “I’m having an intense moment of romanticizing unhealthy times and what it’s like to move around all day in that size body. Just wanted to put it out there because I know (hope) I’m not alone.”

In the post, the 30-year-old also shared a childhood photo, adding, “This little Raggymuffin is so special and weird to know and want to give him abundance and vitality – LIFE! while at the same time EXACTLY feeling pulled by an old desire, away from the pit in your stomach, to be compared to a ‘better’ version of me. AND it’s okay to be in the middle of a mess and not quite done.”

Describing the pressures of social media and the real struggles she faces, she said: “I feel like things have happened in the last few years, I’ve very clearly struggled with an eating disorder, and because of the age of social media and that’s really important and there’s actually a lot of concern about me that I found on my Instagram, and since I’m still early in my recovery in that regard, it’s interesting to talk about it because I don’t know if I’m fully established. I’m just trying every day.”

He added: “I want to talk about it because I feel it’s very important to share that it’s very scary, that it’s very difficult.”

In a very personal essay written for Vogue in May of the previous year, Willis bravely revealed her battle with anorexia nervosa, a struggle that has plagued her for the past four years.

In addition to her eating disorder, “The Whole Ten Yards” actress has openly discussed struggling with depression, as well as being diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and borderline personality disorder.

He revealed that after an ADHD diagnosis at age 25, he was prescribed medication, which inadvertently triggered “appetite suppressant side effects.”

Describing the initial appeal of rapid weight loss, she says: “There’s an unhealthy delicacy to the onset of rapid weight loss, people are like, ‘Oh wow!’ And then very quickly it changed to, ‘Are you okay?’ My friends and family were terrified, and I rejected it.”

In 2022, the Willis family “stepped in”, taking him to seek treatment at Driftwood Recovery, a rehabilitation center in Texas.

She noted that the moment marked a turning point in her journey to recovery, saying: “Recovery may be lifelong, but I now have the tools to be present in all aspects of my life, and especially in my relationship with my father.”
