First Responders Stopped a Greater Tragedy Than Happened on the Francis Scott Lock Bridge
Audio of the moments before the bridge collapsed went viral on TikTok, capturing a law enforcement officer sending men to stop cars from crossing. He explained that the approaching Dali ship had lost control, saying:
“One of you on the south side, one of you on the north side, hold the traffic on the Key bridge. There’s a ship approaching that has just lost its rudder.”
The man in the audio stated that they had to stop all traffic until the situation was under control. However, another cop responded that things had gone south, telling dispatchers that “the whole bridge is down… the whole bridge is down.”

Two People Rescued Following Bridge Collapse
MEGA
The loss of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore sparked a massive emergency response that is still ongoing.
James Wallace, chief of the Baltimore City Fire Department, revealed at a news conference that two people had been rescued in the early hours of the search.
Sadly, one is in “very serious condition,” while the other is unharmed. It is not clear if these men are part of the seven believed to be on the Patapsco River, but they are suspected to have been part of the construction workers on the bridge when it collapsed.
According to Paul Wiedefeld, Maryland Secretary of Transportation, several contractors were working on “concrete deck” repairs on the bridge when it collapsed. However, it is not clear how many workers were on the bridge when it collapsed.
As for the cargo ship’s crew, Wallace said they were all on board but could not be rescued until the ship had been assessed for damage.
