Her family worried that the worst would happen, that their baby girl “was going to die,” leaving them emotional. In addition to Tammy’s health journey, fans will see her sister’s pregnancy experience with her second child, which she shares with her husband, Michael.

Apparently doctors were worried about Amy’s baby because she was “still obese,” and things ended up taking a turn for the worse, leaving the pregnant star hospitalized.

“1000-lb. Sisters” season four will premiere on Tuesday, January 17 at 9pm ET, almost a year after Tammy had a tracheostomy to save her life.

Tammy Gets Tracheostomy To Save Life

Away from the reality show, Tammy was able to overcome her health scare with the help of a surgical procedure, but it was definitely a difficult period.

The Blast reported at the time that the plus-size reality star took a break from dieting to focus on her mental health after telling her doctor she suffered from depression and other conditions that made her an alcoholic.

His medical team was worried about him drinking because they believed it would be the end of him. Unfortunately, it almost did, because he couldn’t breathe and had to be taken to the hospital to get a tracheostomy, which is a hole cut in his neck to get oxygen into his lungs.

He was in the facility for some time on a trach, and it’s unclear how much weight he lost based on the final episode of the third season.

As you may recall, in season 3’s “1000-Lb. Sister,” Dr. Smith reviewed the reality star, who claimed she “struggles with mental health issues” and depression “big time”. The doctor asked him, “Is it worse when you’re alone than when people are here?” prompting her explanation of why she decided to quit her diet routine.
