Egerton said of the role, per Insider, “I don’t think I’m the right choice for that. You have to be consistent to be that guy. And that is something I still struggle with. I have always struggled with my weight.”
He also seemed unhappy with how the part required a long-term commitment from whoever was cast, adding that franchise co-producer Barbara Broccoli had previously said as much.
