Singer Taylor Swift allegedly turned down an invitation to perform at the coronation of King Charles III during “The Eras” tour in May, as detailed in a book by author Omid Scobie.

Other famous artists such as Elton John, Spice Girls, Harry Styles, and Adele also refused, challenging for the coronation concert.

In Scobie’s latest book, “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival,” it is said that pop sensation Swift turned down an invitation to perform at the coronation of King Charles III.

According to Daily MailScobie wrote that the 33-year-old singer turned down the offer in May during “The Eras” tour concert at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, coinciding with the May 6 coronation.

Scobie claimed that other famous performers, including Elton John, the Spice Girls, Harry Styles, and Adele, also went on to perform, presenting “challenges” in putting on a coronation concert. Per US Weekly, Elton John’s representative cited a scheduling conflict as the reason for his refusal at the time.

Luckily, pop music icon Katy Perry, singer Lionel Richie, and Andrea Bocelli were among the big names who graced the occasion.

Perry spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the performance before the show, saying how “grateful” she was to sing in front of King Charles on his coronation day.

He said, “I met the future Her Majesty a few years ago, and she named me as one of the ambassadors for her organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight child trafficking.”

“So, I’m also a UNICEF ambassador, and it really aligns with my values. That’s why I went, became an ambassador and said, ‘Hey, I’m from the United States.’ No, but it’s really cool.”

Richie also shared his thoughts on being invited to perform with the news channel, saying, “To be in this part of history, I’m blown away, I’m so excited to be there. I am walking in history.”
