Taylor Swift has issued a warning to a college student, Jack Sweeney, whose past habit is tracking celebrity jets.
Reports say the singer sent a cease-and-desist letter from her lawyer to the university student in Central Florida, instructing her to no longer be involved in tracking his jet.
The letter also mentioned that they would file a lawsuit against him if he continued his actions. Sweeney has reportedly responded to the threat, saying he has not broken any laws.

According to reports, Swift has made moves to prevent a college student known as Jack Sweeney from tracking her private jet whenever she moves.
The Grammy award winner, through her attorney, has reportedly forwarded a Cease and Desist letter sent to Sweeney telling her to cease “stalking and harassing” behavior, or they will be forced “to pursue any and all legal remedies.”
As part of the letter, Swift’s lawyers also claimed that Sweeney caused emotional and physical stress to the singer and invited potential stalkers who could endanger her safety.
“While this may be a game to you, or a path you hope will bring you wealth or fame, it is a matter of life or death for our Client,” reads part of the letter, which goes on to emphasize that there is “no legitimate interest or public need for” Swift’s whereabouts to be tracked.

Sweeney conducts his tracking activities using publicly available data from the FAA and other supplemental information from like minds.
He is said to have an Instagram page dedicated solely to tracking Swift’s private jet, publishing details about its flight time, distance travelled, CO2 emissions, fuel consumption and fuel costs. He also has a public page where he publishes flight information about other celebrities and sometimes shares tracking information about Swift.
While her recent butt with Swift should have been enough to deter Sweeney, reports say she’s fighting back with her attorney.
He and his attorney have claimed that he did nothing wrong because the information he shared about Swift was all publicly available.
It remains to be seen whether the cease-and-desist letter will lead to a lawsuit, but this is highly likely if Sweeney continues to pursue Swift.
Jack Sweeney Also Tracks Billionaire Mogul Elon Musk
Swift isn’t the only high-profile celebrity Sweeney has been tracking lately. The college student has also tracked the movements of X owner (formerly known as Twitter) and billionaire billionaire Elon Musk.
At some point in 2022, Musk got fed up with Sweeney’s antics and offered him $5000 to stop publicly sharing his flight information. However, Sweeney rejected the offer and asked for ten times that amount, which Musk did not respond to.
Later, X took down the account where Sweeney posted details of Musk’s flight, with the billionaire later hinting at why it was done in a tweet.

“Any account doxxing anyone’s real-time location information will be suspended, as it is a breach of physical security. This includes broadcasting links to sites with real-time location information,” Musk said at the time, adding, “Broadcasting the location someone has visited on a slightly delayed basis is not a security issue, so [it] okay.”
In addition to Swift and Musk, Sweeney has also tracked over 100 jets, including those owned by Bill Gates, Kim Kardashian, Jeff Bezos, and former President Donald Trump.
