Tearful mom of missing 9-year-old Charlotte Sena feared to have been abducted from upstate NY park begs for help

The family of a 9-year-old girl feared kidnapped from an upstate New York park are appealing for help as a massive search continues for the “believed” youngster who may now be in “imminent danger”.

Charlotte Sena disappeared while bicycling while camping at New York’s Moreau Lake State Park with her family Saturday afternoon in what Gov. Kathy Hochul called “every parent’s nightmare.”

“I just want my daughter back,” Charlotte’s mother, Trisha, told the Albany Times Union of a “good child” who “believes.”

“We just want him to come home safe like any parent,” his family also told NBC News.

“No tip is too small, please get in touch if you know anything.”

The young girl was last seen wearing a Pokemon shirt with an orange tie, dark blue pants, black Crocs and a gray helmet. He is described as a white boy with blond hair, standing 5 feet 1 and weighing 90 pounds.

“She’s a very bright, adventurous 9-year-old — but obviously this is out of character,” state police spokeswoman Stephanie O’Neill told the Times Union, adding that Charlotte had been to the park before but not too familiar with it.

His bike was found in Loop A, with a 100-person search party consisting of state troopers, special operations, forest rangers, park police and civilian volunteers gathered at the scene.

Police dogs, two drones, two boats and six underwater teams also scoured the area around the park, while others searched near Saratoga Springs.

The family lives in Greenfield, a town of about 8,200 in Saratoga County, where the youngster’s father, David Sena, is a union plumber, and his mother, Trisha, is a food service inspector for the Stewart’s Shops department store.

Following Charlotte’s disappearance, NY State Police Lt. Col. Richard Mazzone said his team conducted an 18-hour search of the park before issuing the Amber Alert, with police believing the child was gone.

Lake Moreau State Park is closed until further notice as law enforcement continues to search.

Visitors were asked Sunday night to avoid the area, and leave the search efforts to authorities and professionals.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul spoke during the search. FOX 5 NY The search party consisted of more than 100 people, including state troopers, special ops, forest rangers, park police and volunteers.
