Teddi Mellencamp’s Daughter Is The Ultimate Self-Image Coach!

Haters better not cross Teddi Mellencamp’s daughter, Slate!

As a “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alumna, Mellencamp is used to being under scrutiny and receiving unsolicited feedback on countless elements of her life. The 41-year-old host of the “Two T’s In A Pod With Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge” podcast got candid about the online harassment she received on Instagram.

Mellencamp has expressed his intention to do whatever it takes to hold these dissidents accountable. Last month, The Blast saw some comments left on one of Mellencamp’s Instagram videos; she took to Insta to share her feelings about sending her kids to school, hoping her followers will resonate with the bittersweetness.

Instead, trolls came for Mellencamp’s appearance and took aim at her parenting abilities.

After a flurry of comments bashing her appearance, the former ‘RHOBH’ star was inspired to discuss the hostility that often defines the comments section of her content and her distrust of trolls who regularly weigh in on various aspects of her life.

On Saturday morning, Mellencamp shared a heartwarming post, showing a screenshot of a text she received from her pre-teen daughter Slate!

Before we look at the sweetness of Slate’s encouraging text, let’s take a deeper look at the online harassment Mellencamp receives on a regular basis.

In mid-January, Mellencamp shared an Instagram carousel featuring screenshots of negative comments.

“I love using social media to share my life,” Mellencamp explained to her followers. “my struggle… but also my sense of humor, my personality, a 360 view of who I am,” he continued. “What I don’t understand is the need to leave negative comments attacking my face, my body, my person. I know we’re told to just ignore it, but why should we? Why shouldn’t we hold these people accountable for saying things they wouldn’t say to someone in person. Things they don’t want to say to them, or their mother, daughter, or sister,” Mellencamp continued to share.

“So I’m just sharing this to say: keep scrolling,” he instructed. “If not, maybe look in the mirror and ask yourself why saying something rude on a stranger’s post brings you joy.”

Slate Arroyave Comes To His Mother’s Defense!

Mellencamp’s daughter Slate gave Mellencamp’s feed a much-needed dose of goodness when her mom posted a set of encouraging text messages!

“dear mom/the best mom in the world,” Slate began her letter, “who ever said you looked chubby was a lie [long-nosed emoji] because you’re a really beautiful amazing woman and the people who say that just want to make you feel bad about yourself but it doesn’t work that way, so they’re giving you trouble. I love you [kissy face emoji] and don’t think about the haters because they will always be wrong!” Slate encourages her mom with some smiley emojis!

“I LOVE [heart emoji] U MOMMY!!!!!,” Slate ended her first text.

Slate sent another text saying “i love u,” and an additional heart emoji, before giving her confidence in keeping the ‘beautiful’ thought.

“also maybe a bad angle, but your beautiful people are evil, beautiful is the way to be” she continued with a cat emoji with heart eyes. “Be who you are and stay beautiful and love the best [heart emoji] you,” Slate assured her mother.

Mellencamp encourages her followers to be aware of what they post online, as some younger and more impressionable eyes may encounter the hateful rhetoric that often permeates social media.

“I don’t miss @tamrajudge & I do a podcast where we get paid to recap shows,” Mellencamp began her caption, “While doing that we laugh and can be shady and make ridiculous videos. However, there is a difference between doing that and making negative comments about someone’s appearance. My daughter saw some comments where people called me ‘chubby’ and ‘rectangle.’ I can handle it because I am confident in my own skin; but let’s do better because you never know who’s reading what you write,” continued Mellencamp. “I am proud to have raised a good, loving and empathetic 10-year-old. We can only hope that keyboard warriors will learn something from it,” he concluded.

“Ah, I love Slate,” Mellencamp’s former ‘RHOBH’ co-star Kyle Richards commented. “So sweet and true,” she wrote.

Fans generally agreed with Mellencamp’s appeal; some followers, however, took issue with Mellencamp’s daughter being on social media.

“That was a lovely personal message between you and your daughter,” commented one skeptical follower. “You shouldn’t have dragged him into this drama who is not a good person,” they wrote.

Haters gonna hate, but not if Slate has anything to do with it!
