A Texas teenager has admitted to randomly punching unsuspecting victims in public for social media attention, claiming he “just made a mistake” as police launched an investigation into the violent attack.
Alford Lewis, 19, was captured on video walking down a path in Houston’s Wortham Park attacking at least two people as they enjoyed their day at the park, KHOU 11 reported.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation shortly after the disturbing video was posted on social media and shared on the neighborhood watch app Nextdoor to identify the suspect.
The video has sparked outrage and concern among park visitors who want action taken against the shameless suspect.
Lewis has since been outspoken about his wrongdoing.
“You know, I just made mistakes and everyone makes mistakes,” admitted the teenager after being spotted and confronted outside his home, not far from the park, by the shop.

Lewis shared that he went on a string of outrageous attacks to get likes and views for his YouTube and TikTok channels.
“I really didn’t expect it to go so left, you know,” he said.
None of the victims in the viral video fought back after being attacked by the teenager — and appeared even more shocked after being beaten.
Lewis said that the video only highlighted the “bad side” of his actions and did not show what happened afterwards.

“What people don’t see is that I shook his hand afterwards and hugged the man,” he claimed.
Lewis shared that his parents were upset with his behavior after learning what happened.
The video received a harsh response due to its unprovoked and violent nature.
“Before you go out and do anything that you feel bad about, or that might look bad, make sure, like, people know — or don’t do it at all,” Lewis advises others about doing something similar for influence.
It is unclear whether any of the victims have charged the teenager for his violent actions, according to the outlet.
“It’s a quiet neighborhood, so I was a little surprised that someone so brazen came and hit someone without warning or for no reason,” an unnamed resident who said he walks in the park four days a week told the outlet.
Lewis’ actions highlight a worrying trend among youth seeking online fame.
In August, Philadelphia TV news anchor Bob Kelly showed off a visibly swollen eye while on air after being punched in an attack he blamed on a TikTok challenge.
“It’s a scary and disturbing event that seems to have been instigated by this TikTok challenge — just like what you saw happen to Cardi B, with water and videotaped,” Kelly said.
