Teen indicted in death of lacrosse star Sadie Mauro months after Cape Cod boat crash

A 19-year-old man faces multiple charges in the death of Massachusetts high school lacrosse star Sadie Mauro, who was killed when the boat she was on crashed into a pier over the summer, prosecutors said Tuesday.

David K. Sullivan, of Medfield, Mass., was accused of driving the vessel while intoxicated before it crashed and ejected the rising high school senior in Cape Cod harbor, according to Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois.

The Dover-Sherborn High School student went missing in Seasuit Harbor around 9pm on July 21. His body was later found on a nearby beach 90 minutes after the violent collision.

Two other victims were also seriously injured in the crash, the district attorney’s office said.

The charges against Sullivan include death of a person caused by operating a vessel/boat under the influence of intoxicating liquor, two counts of operating a vessel while under the influence of intoxication causing serious bodily injury, and reckless or negligent operation of a vessel causing death.
