Controversy
Facing a Reply from the United Dragon Council (UNC)
In 2021, on Naga political issues following the formation of the Naga Political Issues Core Committee (CCNPI), he said that the central government is ready to resolve Naga political issues, but Nagas have to fully accept the solution. In an interview, he said,
The Government of India (GOI) under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah is ready to provide a solution, but are we inclusive enough to accept it? GOI is making every effort and is committed to the people of Nagaland. One cannot blame the BJP if a solution does not happen. It is as if the BJP is solely to blame for not resolving the issue. Today, if the BJP government says this is the solution, will everyone accept it?
The United Naga Council (UNC) is not satisfied with Imna’s statement. In a press release, UNC said,
Too bad and too early from the ‘young budding politician’. We hope he improves his condition because he still has a long way to go.”
After facing backlash from tribal groups and social organizations, he expressed grief for hurting people’s feelings. He said,
Any settlement that comes should be under the Constitution of India and it should be under the union of India. So anything good for the Naga people under the Constitution of India should be worked on and done. I appeal to all Naga citizens and also the Indian government that an honorable and sustainable solution be worked out so that tomorrow’s Naga generation will live with dignity.”
Blackmailed for Abusive Videos
In 2022, Temjen filed a complaint at the state police’s cyber crime facility against an anonymous person who blackmailed him with manipulated adult videos. According to him, his image was used in the adult video with the help of computer graphics to damage his reputation. The unknown person demanded a ransom and blackmailed her to upload the abusive video on social media if the total amount was not paid. Inma said,
I have already made a complaint against the number (which the crooks have called). If anyone receives any such message, please report me by sending me ID or phone number… Help me find the culprit. I will take good care of him in our Dragon style.”
