Teyana Taylor and her estranged husband Iman Shumpert’s divorce drama has reached new heights with serious allegations against the former NBA star.
According to new legal documents obtained by The Blast, the sensational choreographer is accusing his former lover of depleting their marital assets by more than $3.7 million. Shumpert allegedly made the loan behind his back, and now, Taylor wants a refund.

On March 28, the dancer filed an urgent contempt motion against Shumpert for violating the court’s automatic domestic permanent order.
Typically, when a person files for divorce in Georgia, they will be issued an automatic domestic permanent order designed to protect the interests of both parties and prevent certain actions, such as spouses disposing of marital assets while the divorce is pending.
However, Taylor alleges her ex violated this order by taking out loans from their marital account — a crime her attorney allegedly discovered when Shumpert submitted current statements for certain investment accounts on or about March 7, 2024.

The choreographer’s team found a sharp drop in some values compared to the figures on the statement Shumpert shared in October 2023. Since they couldn’t tell if market forces caused the drop, the lawyer hired Mike Bean, a certified divorce financial analyst , to solve the mystery.

Iman Shumpert Accused of Taking Over $3.7 Million in Loans

During his investigation, Mr. Bean reportedly discovered a loan of $44,000 was taken out on December 7, 2023, from the marriage’s Merrill Lynch account. Shumpert took out a second loan of $886,285 from another marital Merrill Lynch account in 2023.
The withdrawals from the couple’s estate did not end there. Divorce financial analysts found the former NBA star guilty of making $878,760 in withdrawals from the Park Avenue marriage through 2023.
In addition, Mr. Bean claimed a loan of $1,883,899 against the Park Avenue account of the second marriage, and another loan of $105,000 from a Mass Mutual Life insurance policy taken out in 2023.
Based on Taylor’s information, these withdrawals allegedly reduced the couple’s marital property by $3,797,944 in 2023—all in violation of the court’s automatic domestic permanent order.

Taylor Also Accuses Her Ex-Husband of Failing to Pay Taxes

Accusations against Shumpert continue in the filing, with Taylor calling him out for failing to pay taxes on their marital property in Miami, Florida. He stated that the tax was due on January 31, 2024. However, his ex did not fulfill his responsibilities even though he was responsible.
The model explained that Shumpert had been paying real estate taxes on all their properties until he suddenly made a “unilateral decision to stop paying” despite the automatic domestic standing order.
Given his criminal charges, Taylor hopes the court will find her estranged husband guilty of contempt for violating the automatic domestic permanent order. He also wants to resolve the issue by making Shumpert comply with his demands.

Teyana Taylor Wants Shumpert to Pay Child Support

One of his requests is for the court to order Shumpert to start paying monthly child support for their minor children from October 3, 2023, in the amount deemed necessary by law.
Another claim is that the court fined Shumpert $1,000 for each contempt of the court’s automatic domestic permanent order. Taylor also asked that he bear his attorney’s fees and all litigation costs incurred by filing the motion.
Finally, he asked the court to grant further relief because it was considered fair and just for his case. He also reserves the right to amend his motion if Shumpert continues to violate the automatic domestic permanent order.
The Ex-Couple Has Been Separated

Last November, sources claimed Taylor was angry with Shumpert for announcing their divorce. The drama began when the former basketball player revealed their names in court filings while his ex protected their identities by using their initials in his documents.
The insider stated she was “very upset and disappointed” with Shumpert for revealing their identities in her divorce filing. The issue didn’t end there, as they claimed the former couple were living apart.

Taylor previously addressed the leaked court documents in a lengthy social media rant, explaining that she had never shared details of her divorce. “I think it’s my business, don’t disturb anyone & you all know I never play about my children, family & our privacy,” he explained, “I don’t talk about this personal matter to any media or blog, etc- other.”
