Several staffers at “The Kelly Clarkson Show” have come forward and claimed the talk show has a “toxic” work environment behind the scenes.

The outlet shared that Duda reportedly put other staff members in “uncomfortable positions.”
Duda allegedly “questioned a (white) employee about ‘Why don’t black people want to see Kelly?’ and chastised another for asking the executive producer how the show would address the rise in Asian-American hate crimes.” The staff member who brought Duda’s alleged behavior to HR was then “bullied and excluded from meetings and eventually left the show in perceived retaliation.”

A former staffer told Rolling Stone, “NBC is protecting the show because it’s their new money maker, but Kelly has no idea how unhappy her staff is.”
Another former employee said, “I remember going up on the roof of the stage crying, like, ‘Oh my god, what am I doing?’ Why am I putting myself through this?”
Some staff, past and present, also shared that they had to find second ways to help supplement their income, such as “working for Uber Eats and babysitting and walking the dog.”
Duda’s name continues to appear frequently; one former staffer said, “I think Alex Duda is a monster. I had a friend who was an executive producer who warned me about taking this job because [Duda] has done this on every show he’s worked on.”
Duda also allegedly “protected Clarkson from what staff members say they experienced because of the climate created by Duda.”
The joint assertion that Clarkson was unaware of the climate kept coming up in the story.
A group of former staff also revealed their dismay at the fact that reportedly no action was taken to correct the indecency behind the scenes despite “several HR complaints.”
“They worry that the longer the behavior continues without consequence, the worse it will become as the season progresses,” the report said.
Duda’s alleged behavior also recently caused a former employee so much anxiety that the staff member suffered bouts of illness and faltering mental health. Their account claims Duda has “screamed and cursed” numerous times at the publisher who regularly “reports” to the publisher.
They also added, “This job is making my mental health worse.”
Other workers are motivated to seek professional health because of the alleged workplace environment. One former employee shared that their decision to seek professional health was made for the first time in their lives, and it was because they felt they “really couldn’t handle it mentally.”
Staff are also reported to be afraid to ask for help and “ask questions” at any time, which prevents their work from being completed.
Clarkson has not publicly responded to the allegations as of this writing, and there is no word on whether Duda will face repercussions.
A former employee who asked for help said, “It stops me from wanting to work during the day anymore. When I say I’m traumatized, I’m traumatized.”
