In an interview with Financial time, Emma Watson reveals why she hasn’t been seen in movies for so long. The “Harry Potter” alum stated that she is “not happy” with the way Hollywood works. “I think I feel a little bit confined,” he said.
Sharing the most challenging aspect for him, Watson said, “The thing I found difficult was that I had to go out and sell something that I didn’t have a lot of control over. To stand in front of a movie and have every journalist be able to say, ‘How does this line up with your point of view?’”
“It is difficult to be the face and spokesperson for things that I am not involved in the process,” he revealed, per Insider. “I was held accountable in such a way that I started to feel frustrated because I didn’t have a voice; I don’t speak.” Watson also mentioned that he just wanted to be the face of a project where he had a level of control, allowing him to take responsibility for any criticism he might receive.

As a result of her misgivings about Hollywood, Watson has been absent from the big screen since her role in “Little Women” in 2018. Being involved with the creative side of gin is fun because I have a voice and can bring everything I’ve learned to help,” he explains.
As a shareholder in the family company, Watson has worked closely with his brother Alex, a gin expert, and his father, a wine expert. As creative partner, he oversees the gin’s artwork, design and imagery, ensuring everything feels personal.
“I am not willing to let others do it because it is our family, our history,” he explained. “We have to sell a product, but I think it would hurt my soul if it was done in a way that didn’t feel personal.”
Although new to the industry, Watson is confident in his family’s products and looks forward to the journey ahead. “I’m sure we will make mistakes. But I can vouch for Alex. I know who he is. I have seen what this is. I have picked the grapes myself.”
