Life can start to seem a little ‘cruel’ as the podcast queen embarks on her latest career venture; Fischer has joined the cast of a modern adaptation of another pop culture legend from the 2000s!

Fischer will test her ‘cool mom’ skills as a cast member in Paramount Pictures’ nod to the “Mean Girls” franchise; The modern day classic high school movie, starring Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried, will receive another big screen installment based on the Broadway musical adaptation.

What Do We Know About The Upcoming ‘Mean Girls’ Movie?

The next installment of the “Mean Girls” franchise will be a musical film and will feature the famous names associated with the original film. The writer of the 2004 film, Tina Fey, is attached to the new film, along with Lorne Michaels, according to a December report from MovieWeb. Both are producers of new films, and Fey is also a writer.

The Blast recently shared that Seyfried was approached on the People’s Choice Awards red carpet by a reporter, who asked if the “Jennifer’s Body” actress would be involved in any capacity! Seyfried played the beloved and misunderstood member of ‘The Plastics’, Karen Smith, in the original film.

Although Seyfried has not officially committed to the film, she revealed she would be “very open” to the possibility.

The Broadway adaptation of “Mean Girls” officially opened in the spring of 2018. The play would be recognized by the Tony Awards, as it earned 12 nominations before it closed two years later. (per MovieWeb)

The latest “Mean Girls” movie—the sequel to the 2004 film was released in 2011—isn’t the only new and famous adaptation from the movie universe. “Freaky Friday,” the 2003 remake starring “Mean Girls” star Lindsay Lohan, and also directed by Mark Waters, may be closer to getting its own sequel!

Fischer is set to join the history of the “cool mom” franchise as she will play Cady Heron’s mother in the upcoming Paramount adaptation, according to Deadline!

The actress announced her engagement via her Instagram Story on Tuesday afternoon, sharing a link to the Deadline news. He also retweeted the news on his official Twitter account.

The outlet’s official Instagram reel announcement featured Kelis’ “Milkshake” in its post; the song played an important role in the soundtrack of the movie OG!

Fans were thrilled to see their favorite Dunder Mifflin receptionist take on the role on social media; the role of Cady’s mother was originally played by “Saturday Night Live” alumna Ana Gasteyer in the 2004 film.

“The only reason why I watch US ‘The Office,'” one fan commented on Deadline’s Twitter announcement.
