Thirsty thief caught with $2,500 worth of stolen Stanley cups spilling over in her car

The thirst is real.

A California woman has been accused of stealing $2,500 worth of Stanley Quencher glasses after her car was found spilled with an infected to-go cup.

Roseville police said the unidentified 23-year-old thief was approached by staff at a grocery store as he left with a cart full of cups of the viral sensation.

Police then chased his car down Highway 65 — and found the Stanley Quencher, valued at $2,500.

“While Stanley Quenchers are outraged, we strongly advise against turning to crime to satisfy your hydration habit,” Roseville Police wrote in a cheeky Facebook post announcing the arrest.

The department included photos of dozens of the 65 containers it found, which sold for up to $50 each, lined up in front of a squad car.

Other photos show them filling the trunk of a red car, with another also in the front passenger seat — and one seen being used in the car’s cup holder.

The accused thief was charged with grand theft due to the combined value of the cup.

Stanley is a 111-year-old brand that has enjoyed a viral moment with Stanley Quenchers thanks in part to influencer marketing on TikTok and a wholehearted embrace from the Gen Z crowd.
