‘Sister, Sister’ star Tia Mowry has filed for divorce from her husband, Cory Hardrict, after 14 years of marriage.
Just minutes after news of the shock split broke, the 44-year-old broke her silence, writing an emotional Instagram post to her fans.

Tia Mowry filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Courts and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, according to legal documents obtained by The Blast. The 44-year-old actor is asking for joint custody of his two children. The actress hired Kim Kardashian’s lawyer — Laura Wasser — to represent her in the divorce case.
Shortly after news of the divorce broke, Mowry took to social media to share the news with her fans.
“I’ve always been honest with my fans, and today was no different,” Mowry wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him and Hardict. “I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision is never easy, and not without sadness.”
The “Sister, Sister” actress continued, “We will maintain our friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and would like to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we begin this new chapter to move forward in our lives.”

Although the two have had some obstacles to overcome over the years, Mowry-Hardict told Essence last year that “one of the things she loves most about their marriage is how Hardrict’s act of faith and belief has elevated her self-perception.”
And because of both their busy lives, their relationship does not consist of “normal gender roles.” In March 2021, Mowry-Hardict said, “I had to take on the responsibility that a father would do, I was in the backyard teaching my son how to kick a ball. We don’t put labels on each other. … It’s a team effort, and at the end of the day it wins and however we get there, that’s what we do.”
Cory Hardict has yet to respond to the divorce.
