Tia Mowry Calls Marriage To Cory Hardrict ‘A Success’ And Learning ‘Curriculum’

Tia Mowry shares some new perspectives on her ending marriage.

The actress has shocked her fans after announcing that she and her husband of 14 years, Cory Hardrict, are divorcing. In addition to making the announcement last month, Mowry has been working on herself, experiencing an “awakening” that has forced her to look at her marriage from different angles.

During Wednesday’s episode of “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna,” Mowry chatted with Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb about how she doesn’t consider the end of her relationship a failure. After declaring that her marriage was a “success,” the “Sister, Sister” actress stated:

“I see it as a curriculum when you’re in college or high school. You are studying; you are growing; you are growing; you created it.”

He noted that he’s been able to create “some beautiful, amazing kids” with Hardrict, adding, “at the end of that curriculum, there’s a graduation, there’s a celebration. So that’s basically how I see it now.”

Mowry continues by noting that people often equate marital success with longevity when they should be asking, “are they happy? Are they thriving? Are they growing?” which he feels is “most important.” For the “Twitches” star, it’s not about “staying in something” but “really, again, are you happy? Because life is so short.”

The “Baggage Claim” star, who shares two children – Cree and Cairo – with Hardrict, filed for divorce on October 3, citing irreconcilable differences in the press. She then took to Instagram to tell her fans that she and the “Never Been Kissed” actress had decided to split.

Despite the separation, the couple intends to remain friendly for the sake of their children. The Blast shared that Mowry showed her estranged husband some respect when she wished him “happy birthday” when he turned 43 last Wednesday.

However, “Yes, Yes, Yes!” The singer chose an Instagram story that featured an image of the “All American: Homecoming” cast standing with their children in front of the merry-go-round. The birthday boy looked dapper in a pink shirt with matching shorts, white tennis shoes and matching socks.

As for the children, Cree wears a white shirt, light blue shorts, white shoes and tie-dye socks. The 11-year-old’s curly locks were tucked under a white bucket hat while her sister matched their dad’s pink dress with a long-sleeved blouse, trousers and white shoes.

He wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY @CORYHARDRICT THANK YOU FOR BEING THE BEST FATHER TO OUR BEAUTIFUL BABIES,” across from the photo, which was set to Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.”

“Inseparable” Star Is Hitting The Reset Button Every Morning

Earlier this month, The Blast observed that Mowry was getting used to her new life as a single mom, thanks to an Instagram reel she posted. The clip features his morning routine and begins with the 44-year-old taking an authentication card from his deck.

The clip, set to Nigerian artist Tems’ “Free Mind,” ends with the “Instant Mom” screen goddess smiling at the camera and sipping her tea. The Pepperdine University alum wrote in part below the video:

“With a new chapter comes anxiety, uncertainty, and fear. Having a routine helps me clear my mind and hit the reset button.”

The former “Voices” cast member explained that her morning routine isn’t about trying to “be perfect” but about “finding a ritual” that reminds her that “pouring” into her cup helps her feel “more grounded as I navigate this new chapter of my life.”

The mother of two continued that it’s easier for her to practice “daily gratitude, be more productive and focused,” thereby becoming a “better version” of herself when she can “enjoy a slow start.” The post was applauded by many of Mowry’s followers, with one calling his honesty “heartwarming”.
