Internet users have reacted to the sexual assault lawsuit against Tim Ballard, founder of the non-profit anti-trafficking operation Operation Underground Railroad. [OUR].
The public received comments and responses after Utah took action against Chinese app TikTok, announcing a lawsuit over alleged predatory practices targeting children. They are demanding that the Utah Attorney General explain his relationship with Ballard since they share a relationship through the NGO.
Social Media Calls Out Sean Reyes Amid His Friend Tim Ballard’s Legal Battle
The online drama began after Utah AG Sean Reyes announced his lawsuit against TikTok, demanding that “the innocence of our children is under attack and the Attorney General’s office is taking legal action to counter this growing threat.”
The updates shared via X, previously Twitter, caught the attention of many people and they made sure they shared their views without hesitation. “It won’t work Sean. You can’t sue TikTok to try and distract us from what you know and what you did for Tim Ballard. That’s the bigger story- we know it and you know it. Resign,” replied one.
A second person asked, “Are you going to investigate @TimBallard? It seems he’s more of an immediate danger to women and children,” and a third read, “It’s funny. We’ve been trying to protect children from you and your ilk for years. Go home. YOU KNOW.”

A fourth X user went straight for the jugular, making Reyes “embarrass this State,” while asking him to resign because “Your involvement with OUR should be the last problem.”
“Where does your statement address your relationship with Tim Ballard?,” a fifth observer asked, as a sixth claimed, “Trying to distract from the fact that you are publicly associated with a pedophile,” and a seventh wrote:
“How about all of you—— who are hooked on the “Tim Ballard is saving the kids” crap just take a break from current affairs and not call for genocide.”
Meanwhile, this internet surfer made his own thread, which began with, “So, as someone who has written about this: Accusations are allegations. But, as a writer – it’s easier to prove the legal allegations against Tim Ballard (name, date, witness, location) than it is for me to prove his rescue story.”
User X, whose display name reads Dr.Laura Robinson, added, “I can say that “We can’t prove it happened yet.” No, we can’t. But if it’s true, using the same evidence and standard of proof: we sure cannot prove OUR children are saved.”
He concluded by stating that even if the NGO improved the lives of children significantly, it would not be to the extent that had been asserted.
Sean Reyes Entangled In Tim Ballard’s Sexual Assault Lawsuit

In case you missed why Reyes’ name is in the black book, it’s because the 52-year-old went with Ballard on a OUR mission trip to Columbia in 2015. It also doesn’t help that the lawsuit against Ballard reportedly cites support for the writer’s anti-trafficking efforts.
In fact, the document cited the politician’s support as “giving Ballard the protection of the highest law enforcement officer in the state of Utah to carry out his purposes even as consumer complaints and criminal investigations poured into his office regarding the improprieties of OUR and Ballard.”
The suit, filed by five women on Monday, alleges Ballard exploited his organization’s mission to sexually assault them. The allegations come weeks after initial reports of allegations of sexual and business misconduct, leading to significant tarnishing of Ballard’s public reputation.
Additionally, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints rebuked Ballard, accusing him of trying to exploit his friendship with senior apostle M. Russell Ballard for personal gain and engaging in morally unacceptable activities. The father of nine denied the allegations against him, releasing a statement through his new anti-trafficking organization, The Spear Fund.
“The Spear Fund did not exist at the time of the alleged conduct and had nothing to do with it. Mr Ballard vehemently denies the allegations brought by the unnamed woman. He hopes to prove his name in a court of law where evidence, and not baseless accusations in the media, decide the verdict,” the statement declared.
Ballard went on to assert, “It is a baseless invention designed to destroy me and the movement we have built to end the trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable children.” While OUR confirmed to NBC News that the 2017 Social Entrepreneur Award recipient resigned as CEO on June 22, it did not disclose the reason for his exit.
