Tina Turner’s daughter-in-law, Afida Turner, recently opened up about her emotional struggles amid the loss of a loved one in an interview with People magazine.
Afida’s sadness stems from the death of her husband, Ronnie Turner, Ike, and her only child Tina Turner, who tragically died of colon cancer at 62 years and seven months ago.
To add to his grief, in May, his mother-in-law, the iconic Queen of Rock and Roll, also died at the age of 83 after battling multiple health issues, including a stroke and kidney disease.
Their two death blows really hurt the French singer, as he reminisced about his “beautiful” life in Encino with Ronnie 15 years ago. “It’s like a punishment. Morning and night, I cried and screamed,” she told the publication.
“My life in Los Angeles became a nightmare – a real nightmare. That’s why I got out of there. No house, no furniture. Just my memories and Ronnie’s clothes.”

Afida plans to have a baby using her eggs and Ronnie’s frozen sperm as a birthday present before his departure. She intends to undergo IVF to become a mother before her next birthday on December 22. “At least I’ll have a little kid who looks like Ronnie. Monsters like me and him, can you imagine?” He stated. As Afida adjusts to life without her family, she shared that the baby was a posthumous gift from her late husband, saying, “Ronnie left me a very good gift.” Remembering the memories of his late partner, he said. , “He is a huge character with huge energy and perfect madness. In his interview with Many peopleAfida revealed that she is constantly reminded of her deep emotional struggles, stating, “It’s very difficult for me because people only see music or pictures, but I go home and shout the names of my loved ones. [That pain] will never disappear.”
She admitted to feeling depressed and “thinking really bad, dark, bad things.”
“You don’t want to go through this in life. You need to talk to God, otherwise you go crazy and kill yourself. I am suffering and my heart is broken. I try not to lose my mind,” added Afida.
In chat with Daily Mail, the actress spoke candidly about the deep pain that Tina Turner experienced as a mother of four children, tragically leaving two behind; his sons, Craige and Ronnie.
While talking about the late legend, Afida said, “They never had time to spend together, and now the three of them are together.”

Afida and Ronnie first met in 2005 during a recording session for the soul-pop song “French Kiss.”
Working with engineer Ike Turner Jr., who invited Ronnie to play bass and guitar on the track, Afida was immediately captivated by Ronnie’s good looks and charm. The “Etienne” singer recalls Ronnie giving her a “magical kiss” in the studio, sparking a strong relationship between them.
A year later, after spending a week writing together at his Hollywood home, Ronnie expressed his desire for a proper relationship, telling her, “Please stay with me. Don’t leave, I’m depressed.”
Despite their undeniable chemistry, Afida is hesitant because of Ronnie’s turbulent and wild past.
