He added that in a cruel twist of fate, Turner also mourned the passing of another son, Ronnie, Afida’s late husband, just five months before his death.

Afida revealed that the Queen of rock ‘n’ roll’s incredible strength and resilience has given them hope that she will defy the odds and live forever.
“He was sick for a long time but solid too,” shared Afida. “He has been fighting for his life since 2017 until now. We know how sick he is, but he is doing so well that this is unexpected.”
Nevertheless, Afida said the music icon’s unexpected death had a profound effect on the surviving family members, leaving them shaken.
Tina Turner Fears Her Son Will Abuse Like His Father

Afida also mentioned Turner’s haunting fear that Ronnie would follow in the footsteps of her abusive father, Ike Turner, with whom the singer suffered severe abuse for years during their marriage.
Afida revealed that Turner, who also adopted Ike’s two sons from a previous relationship, even warned her about Ronnie in the early stages of their relationship, expressing her fear at the thought of subjecting other women to the same type of abuse she suffered.

Afida said, “[Tina] sometimes told me, ‘You don’t want to stay with him. He will be like his father.’” The daughter-in-law added, “Mother rarely says that.” Acknowledging early signs of such behavior in Ronnie, Afida admitted there were initial concerns that mirrored Turner’s fears.
However, she emphasizes that Ronnie is making a big effort to change and improve his behavior in order to maintain their relationship, as he explains that he will not stay with him if his behavior continues on a destructive path. “He made a lot of effort to keep me. It was hard at first because I didn’t want to live with him,” she revealed.

Although the exact details of Turner’s funeral arrangements remain unknown to Afida, she took some time to acknowledge the important role Turner’s husband, Erwin Bach, played in supporting the singer throughout the years.
Afida praised Bach for being a steadfast pillar of support for Turner and expressed her admiration for his handling of her various responsibilities. “He’s having a funeral, but I’m not the one who’s organizing it,” he said. “I’m not the one who did this. Her husband takes care of that. She has a husband who handles all of that and has handled everything for years.”
“He also did a good job. He did a good job helping [Turner],” added Afida.
